Another transition player looking for opinions.

Roster:
****
Wolverine (xforce) 2/5/1 - 127
***
Cap America 5/5/3 - 127
Mystique 4/5/4 - 127
Psylocke 5/3/5 - 127
The Hulk 5/3/5 - 127
The Punisher 3/5/5 - 127
Sentry 5/5/1 - 127
Black Panther 5/5/0 - 127
Falcon 5/4/1 - 127
Blade 5/3/2 - 127
Cap Marvel 4/4/2 - 127
Wolverine (patch) 2/3/5 - 127
The Hood 3/5/5 - 95
Loki 4/4/1 - 95
More *** with much fewer covers (most notably Daken 2/3/2 - 89, CMag 2/1/3 - 78, DrDoom 1/5/2 - 68, LThor 3/1/4 - 68)
** (all 94)
Ares 4/4/5
OBW 3/5/5
Daken 4/5/4
Hawkeye 3/5/5
Human Torch 5/4/4
MnMag 4/5/4
Cstorm 5/5/3
Thor 3/5/5
Wolverine 5/4/4

Now, I've paid my dues in time and days (day 260), and I'd like to take the next step to score 900 in PVP (for the *** cover progression reward). I got 630 in the last tournament which wasn't enough for even one cover of blade. I can beat teams up to and including 166s (with or without boost, clearly with some luck), but they take such a heavy toll on my teams that I run out of steam almost immediately. I was advised by an alliance member to choose a couple of the *** and get them up to max (I don't have enough iso for 2, but enough for 1 to 166 from here). I can farm iso more heavily and focus my efforts, but I don't want that to be in vain.

I am looking for recommendations as to where to go from here so that I can continue to make progressions. My best strat for PVP has been Featured/Patch/**Daken, then hit the heavy hitters with boosted Featured/Xforce/Hood.

Thank you.

If your main aim is to score highly in PvP, then your main aim is to reliably beat the X-Force/4*Thor +/- Hood/Loki teams, and also to have a fast team, since you'll be shield hopping after 700 or so, in which case from your roster, I'd focus on X-Force and Hood. Not sure what your softcap is for X-Force, but I'd aim to level him as high as possible, since a substantially underlevelled X-Force is a soft target due to low health. Mystique's also decent, but low health for what you're aiming to do. It's no different to what you're doing, you just need more levels, I think icon_e_smile.gif

I can't see any of your other characters giving you more of an advantage than X-Force/Hood.

Thanks! My Xforce's soft cap is 172, and I have the iso to get there. That leads me to 2 follow-up questions:
Would I be advised to take Xforce up directly, or share the iso with Hood, if aiming for this team?
Would leveling like this ruin my scaling in PVE?

Again, thank you for your thoughts and advice!

Two schools of thought about Hood. One is to keep him underlevelled, so X-Force tanks yellow for him. The problem with that is that Hood's yellow match damage is high, so you have to keep him substantially underlevelled for that work. He has low health already, so that creates issues in PvP. Personally, I'd aim to max Hood out, he needs the health. If you level them together, it'll keep your PvE scaling in check, but X-Force is going to remain a soft target until he's got a reasonable number of levels. If you push X-Force up first, it'll ramp your PvE scaling up a tad, though.

We don't really have hard data on exactly when levelling a 4* ramps up scaling beyond 3* levels, but I'd imagine that a level 172 X-Force isn't going to scale PvE any worse than having a level 166 3*. You will have harder scaling, though, which means you'll have to think about bringing some of your other 3*s up to compensate later (in particular, 3* Cap, plus whomever else you fancy).

I guess the long term aim for you is to pick up those X-Force green covers. A level 172 X-Force is still a little soft as a target, but not nearly as soft as a level 127 X-Force. All in all, it probably doesn't matter too much whether you take up X-Force first, or together with Hood. Taking X-Force up first would be more immediately helpful for PvP, but may cause scaling issues, as your level 127 3*s will probably end up facing PvE enemies scaled for 166s. Having said that, level 127 3*s should probably cope with that kind of scaling.
