Is this really supposed to be open already? And with a FOUR DAY duration?

I was working on my clear of it. Finished most, but one essential and one trivial node. It just disappeared. This will put me even further behind those that got a full clear of it in my bracket.

I hope they just negate all the points gained here. It feels pretty unfair to those of us that missed it.

Just give everyone a starlord cover. For the sake of fairness.

How would that be fair? A standard cover won't increase my event placement... Or balance it out...
  • My Scotland Yard appeared together with Anderson Inc. Sub. I cleared both once and noticed a few players have grinded the Scotland Yard up to few thousands above one clear points. And shortly after awhile, the whole Scotland Yard sub disappeared , leaving the points gained we got from there like that. It's extremely unfair to those that haven't played it, and this can pretty much ruin a few players ranking and determination in this whole event. There should be a fix to this problem. I would like to suggest that the points gain via this bug should be removed in order for players to gain a fair ground again.

Edited: Scotland Yard finally appeared on the time it's supposed to be open, all the points gained from when it's opened back then are all still here. I've saved a few screenshots, but can only see a few names. Wondered if D3 is really going to do absolutely nothing??
Those who cleared all the nodes once got 4,198 points. A few top guys did it twice and have 7300-7700 points. It's more than enough to determine the rank because you can never caught up to this amount of points lead if you play as much as them during the event. (I'm also one of the top 5 in my bracket, because I cleared this once for 4,198. I'm sorry for those of you who haven't cleared this icon_cry.gif ). I really hope they address something about this soon since weekend is coming.

Bumping this up as we haven't heard anything from D3, not even a we know this is an issue and are working on a solution. Thank you for your patience.

They have been doing so much better lately with properly announcing things so this feels like two steps forward and one step back. I know it doesn't affect a huge percentage of the player base but will still be nice to hear something.

**Edit Didn't grab screen shots but I'm pretty sure the top guys in my bracket had over 10k from this. If you were to minus 10k off of their scores I would now be above them and quite possibly into top 5, as it is I'm top ten but not by a lot.

Again, I really don't know what they can do about this but they should at least acknowledge it.

This happened in my game as well. There is now no possible way I can get in the top 10. I'm not super pissed or anything, it's just really really lame. Seems like a really goofy way to fix what was likely a coding issue. They noticed it and then pulled it as an option once you left. When it showed back up to me it remembered the four or five matches I won before leaving a few days ago.

I think they should give everyone in the top 100 or so all three covers instead of just the Purple (or the Mohawk) , including people at the top. I think that would be fair. Seriously, people ground out 5000-10000 points. I got only got about 1000 or so, then had to leave the ****...
  • Typical of D3 to ignore and try and sweep this under the rug.
  • I finally got an update to this issue, I'm sorry to inform you that they will not do anything...

I've submitted my first ticket in this game regarding this issue and surprisingly they replied to me.
There was not much of a content in there so when they asked me to rate their customer service response, I told them a couple negative things including the response sounded like automated response that didn't solve any issue. Yet another surprise, new reply came again with just one night, please see the update from the copied-pasted email below for your reference:

    Greetings D3P Customer,

Thank you for contacting D3P Customer Support.

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience that has been caused to you, and are thankful for the feedback you have submitted.

Rest assured that the email you received about possible widespread compensation was not an automated reply. While it may not look like it at first glance, it did directly address your issue.

Additionally, we have an update we can share regarding this issue. It has been determined that the players who had access to the event during the short time it was active had very little impact on the overall rankings and we believe there is a more than fair chance for other users to catch/pass these users on the leader boards. As such, we will not be taking any additional actions regarding this issue.

If you would like to submit further feedback on the subject, as well as stay up to date on current and future information, please visit the forums:

    http://www.d3pforums.com/

I have personally added your feedback to our database. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us again.

    Best Regards,
    D3Publisher Customer Support Team (BLB)

    Dear DP3 customer support:

    Learn how to add.

People with access to that node are now ahead of me by the exact number of points they had earned during the time this event was available. Seriously. Math is fundamental. You are absolutely crazy if you don't think 7000-10000 points affects the distribution of rewards in this game, especially an event with a new character introduction. Every person in the top 10 is there because they grind every 3 (or 8) hours or they are in a lobby with inactive players.
  • I am in one of the Slice One brackets. Currently the 9th place player, and the fifth place player (full disclosure: I'm in 5th and I was able to grind Scotland Yard once when it was open temporarily) are seperated by approximately 4000 pts.

The difference in prizes between 5th place and 6th place (excuse the hyperbole when discussing a digital game) is pretty large. Two covers vs. Three covers seems pretty relevant.

I agree with the OP that customer support should re-evaluate how they interpret the accidental opening of Scotland Yard. I've been playing very frequently, have always been in 2nd - 9th place depending on the time of day... This has been the most compacted event score wise. If you miss even one 3hr refresh (or got additional points because of an accident) you definitely have an advantage over the others who didn't.

Got the same cut & paste response as I fell out of top 10 as I couldn't outgrind those who were essentially spotted 4k-10k points at the end.
They made this game competitive by design and are most likely using forecasted models based on player metrics to make this decision.
The only thing they have done is generate ill will from customers impacted and they're implying that their precious in-game economy is too fragile to handle outlier cases to award these oh-so-rare digital goods. If their fear of distributing extra digital goods is that high to trump reasonably good customer service, the company deserves to go under.
  • On the positive side; they actually responded back to you in a (somewhat) timely manner

On the negative side: they don't acknowledge that their mistake had any impact. It is another lousy response, but this is what we've come to expect from D3's customer (dis)service.

Has this actually been dealt with yet or are they just hoping that you will get tired of bugging them and forget about it?

So to my complete surprise, when I logged on this afternoon, I had 100 HP, 3000 ISO, and a Yellow Starlord. Miracles can happen!!! Thanks D3 for this, I was not expecting it at all.

Did you file a ticket or was this totally random?

Sorry, just now seeing this question here, and in the thread in the Bugs forum. When it initially happened, the first thing I did was fire off an email that SY disappeared. I didn't realize it was a premature release, so I thought I was just going to lose out on points. I went to the forums afterwards and found out from other knowledgeable forum users, that it was a premature release. So I did have a ticket, and I received the same copy/pasted reply that everyone else got after they realized what happened. I did receive a troubleshooting reply before that asking me to force close the app, and reopen, which I had already done.

If you check out this post here http://www.d3pforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=22674&start=260#p288859, I was bored and posted scores that were accumulated when SY was opened. I took the screens immediately after the sub reopened to get an accurate picture of how many points were accumulated while SY was open. Then I compared them to the scores, of the current time, showing who benefited and by how much, by SY being opened.

Vankysher planned on pursuing the case, since they were 11, I think. I sent my screens to them, and assume they pursued it. I didn't think anything would come of it, nor expect it, as I finished 16th, since I had lost interest in continuing to go for T10 and lost faith that another bug wasn't gonna happen that would put me further behind. Then I was surprised as everyone else was, when I got the difference of the T10 rewards.
