Legendary characters deserve legendary introductions

Not the recycling of a tedious and drawn out event that most of the player base have seen, at the very least, once before.

Put some effort into your PVE. Enemy of the State was a step in the right direction, Meet Rocket and Groot wasn't. A galactic character like Star Lord could have such an amazing intro to the game and you've blown it. Again. Just like you blew it with Blade; a horror character introduced on Halloween in a repeat of The Hunt, arguably the worst event in the game. (Ignoring Heroics.)

New characters are great, but you need to rethink how and why you're introducing them. You're wasting story opportunities that could really enhance the game and take the PVE into its next - much needed - phase, but you're stuck in the past. And it's becoming really, really old.

Just think, even 3*'s used to get specially tailored events for their introduction!

Games evolve, or they die. This is an evolution the game needed. Welcome to the reset! 4*'s are the new 3*s.
  • Its cheaper to do it this way and we all know D3 only cares about money and nothing else...

    I'm not contesting that.

I am! Even if one concedes that the end-game needs to go 4* to keep the veterans invested, the OP wasn't discussing the tiers of characters, he/she was discussing the manner of introduction for new characters.

It's clear that demiurge can't produce new events as quickly as they produce new characters. It is therefore necessary to (1) reuse events to keep up with the pace of new characters, or (2) slow down the character release schedule to match the event development time.

Demiurge has definitely gone with (1). I would rather they went with (2), or at least were closer to (2) than they are now.
