    Wow, this slice is moving REALLY SLOWLY. Only up to 440 players so far, and that's over a day later than my 301 post! (Top players now over 30k.) The good news is that if you do end up in this bracket, you are guaranteed a top 50% placement. icon_e_smile.gif No idea why it's so slow, but I could see it never filling. And I'm still pretty sure this is a vet slice.

    Also, to the person who bemoaned getting 997 and then 997 in a sub as well: your sub placement is automatic now, and when the subs and the mains have the same max number, you're always in the same place in the first sub. So when you hit 997 you were doomed to 997 in both; the second action wasn't your fault!

    Yeah, I've suspected they were doing this, maybe forever, maybe in response to these threads. Still, any shot in the dark is better than 100% random.

    I wonder if there's some small percentage a vet can get placed in a "noob" bracket and vice versa. They did call it a gentle nudge after all, even though it usually seems like 100%, maybe it doesn't quite work that way? Also I know that was in regards to shards in PvP, but the same thing seems to happen in pve so I would expect the same mechanics at work.

    Just decided to try my luck on slice 3. I landed as the 100th player, so the same bracket than rkd80 and my alliance fellow.
    Puertorico, genmaster and Hashin03 in the top 10
    I'm glad I was pretty lucky this time icon_e_smile.gif but I'm concerned by the fact that playing PvE become so highly random (except if you enter at the very start, in this case, no surprise!)

    Not always the case, specifically if you have to play a node in the main to open up a sub. Last PVE, my main filled, but my subs had not. I told an alliancemate, who joined later. He got a fresh bracket, but we were in the same subs. I saw him in the T10 for the subs, with me. We both finished T2 for Red Thor covers.

    The chance might be greater when one bracket fills, because it might take a while for them to set up a new bracket, especially towards the tail end of an event. Last PVE, I announced that my bracket had filled. Showed the Players: 1000 screen and all. A different alliancemate, than the one above, joined fairly shortly after. He got baby bracketed in a bracket that was in the 500s. He played the previous PVE, SG cover and all, and the previous PVEs to at least score a cover, so he shouldn't fall in the baby bracket, but he did. Since he did not need the Lazy Thor covers, and was too far behind to try for the Thor 4 cover, he didn't play too much.

    I just joined slice 5 and it's now up to 536. So no way of knowing where you are going to be placed it looks like.

    1) Slice 4 <---- might be a Vet bracket, beware!

    This happened to my alliance mate too, but he's been sandbagging pve for a couple months now so maybe he got dropped from "vet" status.

    Edit: 3.5 hours into the bracket opening and we're up to 77 players. Still a good one to join if you get in soon.

    Leader may be at 25k, but if you play a couple of clears you may find that you rocket up the leaderboard and that top50 is still very feasible. I would try a little before you pack it in. Those newbie brackets tend to be very soft outside of the top 5 to 20.
