season x question

The season x with the red orb...the one on the right. Says you can raise your season points and you fight with Elektra. What exactly does this do?

    It gives you the opportunity to try out whatever the character is featured in that node (right now it's Elektra, before that it was 4* Thor), which seems to be the 4* they are giving away that season. There's a couple dinky prizes, but yeah, mostly it's just a bell and/or whistle.
