I play MPQ for one year and one day (red Dino Day* icon_e_wink.gif ) and although I'm still hooked to the game, although I keep competing in almost all events, I miss my time in the Prologue when I wasn't competing against anybody but the game.

I took the opportunity of the last Q&A to ask for more non competitive content

I always thought that PvE shouldn't be a competition between players at all, this should be for PvP. We know that placement requires not only skill and grinding but also luck in picking an easy bracket and we have regular threads to help forumites to time their entry. Is this really the way PvE was meant to be?

But anyway, there is certainly enough room in the game to feature both competitive and non-competitive PvE. With the recent addition of the Gauntlet mode, the devs proved they could design interesting non-competitive content and I think that our participation showed that this new game mode is a success. Moreover I think that we don't have to play all the events that are running in the same time so there could be different kind of game modes open at the same time.

I'd really like to see more non competitive PvE and wonder why the devs are so shy about this. Maybe they are unsure that they will be enough players interested in? Or maybe they think that the competition against player for placement is the only efficient incentive to play? However I'm convinced that a challenging difficulty coupled with an interesting reward is sufficient to ensure players' involvement.

Finally, what I'd really like to see is a cooperative game mode. I'm not really used to online games and competition is perhaps the usual model but cooperation would be a welcomed change. To obtain the rewards the players would have to put the effort together. The mechanism of the filling bar in old Hulk event come in mind but I'm sure many other original mechanisms can be designed. This could be a cooperation required within an alliance therefore we'd gain a new game mode and a new alliance feature! icon_e_smile.gif

Am I alone wanting to play with my fellow forumites and not against them?

tldr: I'd like to see more non-competitive content, why not even cooperative content, and you?

I am absolutely on board with you on this one. There are a lot of people here that are, too. As a group, I think it's safe to say we love the Gauntlet. It's not perfect, but it is something new and different and at the very least we want to encourage that kind of movement in the game's future.

Nice to see I'm not alone icon_e_wink.gif

I try to contribute regularly to the "PvE brackets are now at ___" threads. I like the fact that the forum community is so helpful. Would be nice to cooperate ingame and not only for timing entries! icon_e_biggrin.gif

Plus, as a commander of a top 250 alliance, I know that an event requiring within alliance cooperation would be a perfect fit for us. Season Top 100 is actually a goal a bit too hard for us but we all play daily and communicate a lot. I'm sure we would do well in a kind of Gauntlet requiring some sort of coordinated fights within alliance trap.png !
