PvE Progression Reward Refresh

I saw this mentioned on here somewhere before, but I think it warrants its own discussion. In the current Hunt PvE, I have already reached the 22,000 Squirrel Girl cover reward, and there's still 3.5 days left in the event. I don't need the Thor covers, so I literally have NO reason to bother with fighting wave after wave after wave of lvl 200+ Daken/Venom/Ragnarok teams.
So, what if the progression rewards looped? After you hit the top progression reward, you get to start over again at the bottom of the reward stack and work your way back up? Maybe make them a bit more expensive than your first run thru, or even change them up or make them even juicier for your 2nd run? A lot of players end PvE events at well over 2x the max progression reward point total, so this would give them a reason to keep playing. I know for me personally I'm done with this event. There's no reason for me to continue. The best I can get for fighting comically overpowered 2*s is 500 ISO or a Standard token ("comically" overpowered. You see what I did there??) I'm sitting on almost 300,000 ISO at the moment waiting for more 4-Thor covers, and Standard tokens are the least likely to pay out anything useful. It's no longer worth it for me to play this event. It's all just digital crack anyway, would it really be such a crime to make fighting over-scaled 1 & 2 s worth the effort?
Thoughts? Anyone else see how this could be a relatively effortless way for D3 to gain some much needed good will with its player base?

Yeah I'm nearly at double top progression. They definitely need to revamp the progressions. Maybe make top progression = 1/2 of the maximum points you could get if your played optimally.0

this or higher reward levels. its crazy that the top final scores are 3 to 4 times the top progression award score and theres nothing higher than one gold cover. more tokens or even 500 iso every 20k after top progression would at least be a bone thrown for continual placement grinding.
never gonna happen0 -

They've traditionally made the progression reward achievable without having the required character. Honestly, it seems like they make progression rewards for the top 10-20%, and beyond that they leave people to fight for ranking rewards.0

Can't imagine it's hellishly hard though. In slice 3 with 2 days to go i'm a touch off quadruple the top progression reward (at just over 86k) and i've been hitting nodes twice to take 16h off and only grinding the nodes 3 times at the end (a couple more on the easy nodes cause its..err.. easy ).
I can't imagine 3/4 of my points came from essential nodes so the top progression is very doable without her.0 -

With my roster, sure I can play these crazy scaled Ares/Daken nodes, but I think if you have a lesser roster and are out of fluffy scaling land, you may need all subs to hit 22K.0 -

yep, progression reward needs to be modified to take into account the actual range of score reached by the players. I remember some late events where last progression was out of reach for nearly everyone. This was annoying. Now we are almost sure to reach the last progression reward but I agree with OP that some additional rewards are needed for the extended play.
It's the reason why I liked gauntlet so much: I fight to try to obtain the very last progression reward and that's all. No endless grindind for the only purpose of competing against all other players.0 -
I posted over in the event - I hit top progression early third day by doing only six repeatable nodes in Alaska (all essentials), four in Florida (two essentials), and four in Savage (one essential). Eight to nine non-optimal runs with missing at least half the nodes in each. Progression came much to easily, to early.
Or not! It would be great if all progressions were like that. They should be achievable by most, including those without the essential required character. I agree with OP - it would also be great if the "best" progression was a mid-point and perhaps some small tokens were given at checkpoints throughout. Maybe every thousand points give out 100 ISO, 250 ISO, 100 iso, standard token, 100 ISO, heroic token, 100 iso, boosts, 100 iso, 25 hp. It would give something more to work forward to.0 -
