Are most players for this game are all-in or all-out?
Hello all,
The Devil Dino's I got the last couple of days, tell me I have been playing the game for a year. I still really enjoy playing the game. However after nine seasons in top 100 alliances, I just can't see myself grinding out and maximizing points in every event. From all the posts I see, it seems that people gravitate to all-in to everything, all-in to either PvP or PvE, or they just quit the game completely. Is that really the case?
Lately, I have been just collecting the HP in PVP events, and letting the points fall where they may, and just getting the progressions I need in non-new character PvEs while trying to get lucky at the end of Subs for HP and tokens. It actually, has made the game far more enjoyable to me. Heck even those times the AI gets those crazy cascades that kill off a team member with nothing you can do, don't even hurt so much.
Are there any other players taking it easier now a days, but still playing the game? It seems like the road less traveled, but is a far more enjoyable trip.

I've definitely turned it down. I don't play much PvP anymore since the prizes rarely interest me. I do try to keep up with PvP, but I'm not grinding it like crazy. I'm not really bothering with Lightning rounds since I have almost 200,000 ISO banked with nothing worth spending it on, and the character selection is not as fun as it was.
I'm still enjoying the game, I just don't see the need to participate in each and every PvP.0 -
What you are describing is, as far as I can tell, the only way to actually enjoy playing this game. It can easily get on top of you, but when you back up and play it like a game and not a lifestyle choice it can be a lot of fun.0

I tend to play more in the middle. I'll go all out for new characters in PVE sometimes, and for covers I need in PVP sometimes, but even that is almost never aiming for top 1 or 2; it's usually "get one of each cover" for PVE and top 25 for PVP. I can usually manage top 50 in both without having to shield at all in PVP or lose sleep in PVE, so I tend to do that.0

I told myself I was taking a break this season, left a great alliance, and skipped the first two pvp's. Having already built up a strong roster (330 days of above average play) I felt incredibly relaxed seeing the recent rewards. Convinced I made the right decision, i decided to play a pvp for fun...and found myself in a ridiculously easy season bracket. So now, i'm back to playing pvp and am gauranteed at least a top 25 finish. PvE can suck it though, late late starts ftw. Being a merc has been a pleasant experience as well! I'm enjoying this "break" more than my previous committment to the game.0

PvP I've mostly stopped hopping. Climb as high as I can, slap an 8 hour shield on it and call it a day (picking slices that allows me to do so easily). I've lost track of how many events so far have passed in season 10, but I'm 3/5 or 4/6 hitting top 25 that way. Worse than previous seasons, but still look like I'll have a chance at top 50 for the season.
PvE I'm always all-in on events I like, 50/50 for new characters, and play for Iso/HP the rest. Absolutely killing myself for a couple of 4* characters in PvE is what really killed my motivation to stay 100%.
So I'm like 80% in. Down from 100% when I was a 2*, but still very active.0 -
My group of alliances created a casual alliance. In PvP, I hit the seeds and then tank, unless there is a #1 reward I want. It makes it super easy every 3-4 events. For new character PvE's I usually go all out and go to one of my group's top 100 alliances that needs help. For old character PvE's, I usually go for a few sub rewards, if there's hp, and the progression rewards. The game is much more fun now.0

I average 300 points in PvP when I play, and I only play the last hour of whatever slice I join. I can play PvE out through all progression rewards, but I rarely do (usually only for new events). So I'd say I'm pretty casual.0

In PVE I generally go for 2 covers on characters. It is easy, I am able to get ISO and token to earn more covers without killing myself. I have found that aiming for top 10 in PVE is just too much of a grind. In PVP I have been able to hit a lot of top 10's this season with 1 shield sometimes 2 depending on the cover. If the new 8 hr refresh stays in PVE I might end up to place higher in PVE becuase of it. I will also aim for about 1500 points in the simulator for the season. Getting to 200+ is just to much of a grind for 1 cover as I refuse to shield in the simulator.0

I have a 2* roster building towards a 3* one and ill admit im 100% in. The thing is though, that I really enjoy it. I don't plan my days around MPQ and I go out with friends. I tend to finish near top 10 in all PVEs and near T100 in pvp. A top 100 alliance has accepted me and are mentoring me (Ya I'm lucky enough) and I aim for 550 per PVP event. Sometimes I get it sometimes I don't (2* roster is what I'm working with).
I think you could really be competitive in this game (of course not top level but according to the team you have) and still enjoy life. Once i'll realize that I no longer go out cause of MPQ is when ill delete it.0 -
I don't know. I guess I'm all in, considering my scores. But I only really play for 1-1.5 hours every two or three days for the PvP scoring. I usually hit 800 (never go any higher since the shield changes), which is apparently pretty high since I'm scoring top 50 in the season right now. Hmm...0

I'm on day 64 (94 technically since i started over after realizing i wasn't playing right lol) I'm all in as much as i can in PvE. I play PvP and lightning rounds, just for the iso and tokens. I hit 300pt, get my token and call it quits. I've only got 2 max 2* Ares and Mag and i only just maxed them 2 weeks ago. For me, they're a good combo. I may play PvP now since i actually read how pvp works. I didn't know the last team you used, is the team that other's fight. I lost a lot using lower level 2* to beat easy teams.
Getting a little tired of the PvE featuring the new Covers that just came out. Basically unless you're in top 100 and get the new cover, the next event will suck for you. I and a few other got kicked from a alliance who was sitting at 75 for squirell girl. No reason given. I know my score was at 76k within top 10 of alliance. I left work for home, 20 min ride...got home 10min to end of event.and BAM i'm not in alliance. I almost threw my phone. Seriously...what benefit is there from gambling with kicking people? I know they didn't finish top 100 because of it, so they suffered too.0 -
Glad to hear, I am not the only one. It seems there is need for my new alliance, and I will continue to build Wild Pack, to be the alliance that plays the game for fun, but can turn it up when the rewards are worth it.
Thanks for making me feel like I am not playing a different game.0 -

Grinding in pve will kill the fun in this game. Not as much now (cuz of 8hr refreshes) but when it was 3hr or 2.5hr, you are spending pretty much your entire life and maybe getting top10. Almost quit game cuz of this. If you are playing this game for enjoyment, do pvp and do whatever u feel is fun in pve. Pvp can be frustrating, but is more enjoyable. I'd say i am about 60% in but still live my life and have fun.0

I've basically quit completely because I don't think I have it in me to play casually after getting used to top 100s or higher all the time. I know I'll just ramp back up in a fairly short period of time if I try. I'm keeping the game installed in case I decide to come back, but it will be a while from now if I do.0

I'm fortunately in the position where I can play like you and not really miss out on much. I was all-in for my first 6-months or so (basically through season 4 or so) but have since scaled back and go hard occasionally but mostly play when I want which is still enough to do well. I've also gotten a different perspective, which is taking things a little more "long term". I don't need to bust it and shield hop, etc, for top 5 and 1100+ for every new character, just pick up the covers here and there, they will come eventually. It's made the game a lot more enjoyable.0

Similar to a few others above, just plodding along taking 7-800 in pvp.....saving hp since now purchasing is my only way to get 4* so for that reason i will play the pve with hp sub-awards that are easily reached, and skip the others.
Its a lot less intense than it used to be and the cover rewards rarely matter, but its still engaging and although its now slowed a lot there is still a slight sense of progression.0
