On day 438, I finally have my first 166

My long voyage is nearly complete. Ever since I decided - with Ares and Astonishing Wolverine at level 75 - to bring all my 3*s that could make it, along with select 2*s, up to 75 with them, to level my varsity team together, they're finally getting to the promised land. Right now Patch - who has always been the first one I leveled, since he was the first one I cover completed - is my sole 166, but, since I have 27 characters at 165 right now, he's going to have a lot of company over the next few days. The four 4*s that are part of that group will go to 170, but that's it. Not messing up PVE for PVP.

The journey has been a long one (close to a year). And it won't end with these 28, since I picked up a ton of covers since I started the last push of the varsity team, and now Dr. Doom (140), Blade (140), and, soon, hopefully Rocket and Groot (127) will all be able to join them. And Gamora, Luke Cage, Mystique, and Goddess Thor need a bunch of levels, plus there's 8 2*s still at 80th level that I need to take to 94. And, since all that will take a while, there's probably going to be more before I'm caught up. But soon, I will no longer be ISO-constrained.

So, who wants to touch me?

Pretty sure you can take the 4*s up to 200 and still be ok in PvE, while giving them enough oomph to be scary for PvP.

That said, congrats. That's a heckuva roster you've got built.
  • Is there any benefit to sticking at 165? I've been moving my 3*s to 157 and letting them wait until I have at least 6 ready to push to 166. I chose 157 because somebody else mentioned it as their stopping point for PVE and I assumed there was some math behind it somewhere.

More on topic, I need a lock of your hair for...reasons.

    Couldn't agree more!

Every PvP I set myself a goal (usually passing 300 so I can get the Event Token). The only time I really try and push past my norms is when someone I have a fair amount of covers for (Hood, Hulk, etc) already or someone I want covers for (Daken, Captain America, Falcon, etc).

Every PvE I set a goal (usually the Event Token xD).

I also keep overall goals, like right now I'm trying to get my Ares max level now that he's fully covered, but I'm also keeping an eye out for a Yellow cover, because I need it for optimal build. I'm also trying to fully cover 2* Thor, while leveling him with Thor, but he's definitely not optimally covered at 5/5/2, so I'm keeping an eyeball out for those Green Covers. I've managed to get Thor to 86 (his current cap) and Ares to 85 (who can go to 94 with the rest of my 2*s), so each event I just try and get enough ISO-8 to get two or three levels on each of them, which hasn't been a problem yet lol, but it makes it feel like you're accomplishing something.

The other thing I try and do when I'm feeling kind of out of odds with the MPQ-verse is try and make weird combination team comps at the bottom of events or in Shield Sim. Example being, as I mentioned, my Thor is 5/5/2, which isn't optimal, but with him as he is in combination with 2* Magneto and 2* Hawkeye, yeah, those were some hilariously fun matches. icon_lol.gif
