To be so fun, this game can honestly make me very angry.

Particularly when you bring a team of maxed 2 stars against a couple of ~45 2's and a 53 3 and lose to insane cascades.

Literally started the game (didn't health pack up because it should've been a free win...) to witness a 100 ap cascade. He then proceeds to take his second turn (thanks to a match-5 that fell in on the top...) Feral Claw, Ada Slash, Summon Demons and take out Ares. I take a pitiful match-3 and, Lo and Behold...he cascades another 40 AP including 2 crits. Wipes my team with a second Feral > Ada + crits.

On the other side of coin, are same, easy, quick wins for player.
Yesterday I played PVP, with CMag, XFW and Human Torch and in first lucky move i did crazy casdade of about 10 of them, with 4 criticals and killed first opponent in one turn. Then, still in same round because of criticals, I almost killed second character by XFW's black, finished by green one and attacked third opponent by Cmag's blue. Then, opponent has one turn and in my second round, I had another cascade with 2 criticals and killed him with XFW's green.
Can you imagine how pissed you would be, in case you are the opponnent?
But I was smiling A LOT!

    Sometimes, this just happens...

They give you the first move. If 100 AP cascade it is likely you could have had gotten some of that AP if you had studied the board. I am convinced they punish you if you don't see a 4 or 5 match. Even if that was your plan anyway.

Today, in the last node of the PVE (Venom, Daken, Ares) I had two defeats in a row that went exactly the same, the only difference is that one happened in turn 2 and the other in turn 3: Basically 1st turn 5-match of blue that cascades into a match of green. Next turn Chemical reaction for 2700 that precisely changes a blue tile to green next to other two green, follow immediately with Onslaught for 3800. Bam! my main beater is dead and the two other guys who are more support than anything else cannot possibly beat a fully healed (minus one scratch) team of three level 266 characters.

Devs must be sadistic to put two characters with 5-AP abilities (one of which potentially, no scratch that, infallibly feeds the other) in a team that is going to get buffed beyond level 250.

This is when you learn to hit retreat as soon as you see the crazy cascade instead of watching the enemy destroy your team. You'll probably still need healthpacks but you may be able to prologue heal a true healer that barely avoids being downed by the 30% deduction to health by retreating.

Yeah, I was just in awe and failed to make the move.

Sometimes I wait for the whole thing to get a screenshot. I like to see the crazy number of AP they get. But that is a good strategy.
