PVP Defense set up question

How does one put a defense team up for PVP? I think I lose a lot of battle because I don't put the defense team up. Would love to know, thanks!

Defense team (the team that the AI uses when people queue you in PVP) is the last team that you won a PVP match with. You don't need to do anything to put up a defense team. The people you beat in PVP see the team that you beat them with in their retaliation node. When people find you as an opponent in PVP, they see the last team that you won a PVP match with.

Is there a consensus on how defensive teamups are chosen? Is it is a random selection from all 20 of your teamups? or can players set their defensive teamups by equipping them individually? I have always left one strong teamup in place (either a maxed Windstorm, or a superleveled RotP that I got from the gauntlet) in the hopes that they will be my defensive teamup, but I obviously can't confirm that this plan works.

Important addition: The defense team is the last team you won with in that particular event.
It is quite possible to have one defense team in PvP A, another in PvP B, and a third in the SHIELD Simulator.

TU are just random, but are based on the levels of the players you have as defense. So if you have a maxed featured character and 2 166 you will get a 166 TU. It might be web bandages but it will be a high level web bandages. It is random so players don't leave a 270 Surgical Strike as a TU. Bring the TU you think you are going to use not what might be scary.
