R69 Android - Alliance Chat is broken

Well this is unprecedented.

I can't see any historic Alliance Chat.

Team-up requests are still visible.

I posted a test message and could see it, when I left Alliance Chat and went back in it was gone.

Its not working on the PC client also and I tired the above and restarted the client a few times and still nothing.

It does not. I've closed the game several times as well, and still no sign of the chat.

OK, we're seeing this here. It appears that the first request for chat history is not working, but after 30 seconds - 5 minutes (can't get more precise than that yet, sorry), it shows up. If you wait long enough and then exit and enter the chat screen, chat history should come back. It doesn't seem like any messages are being lost, even ones you send.

Please post here with your experiences, especially if chat messages don't show up after 5 minutes.

To confirm, chat does appear if you go into the chat screen "after a time". A couple of battles has been enough in my unofficial testing.

Is there any explanation as to what causes the first chat request to fail?

Hi Moon Roach, sorry, I got busy and didn't follow up here earlier. We figured out the problem on Monday afternoon and have a fix in the pipe for R70. Basically, you're right, the first chat history request is failing, and subsequent ones are succeeding, thus needing to wait long enough for another request. In our tests, about five minutes is enough time, though you'll probably have to re-enter the chat screen for the update to trigger.

Any news on when R70 will actually happen? I'm tired of not being able to communicate with my Alliance mates on a regular, predictable manner since R69.

I post a comment, they comment, then nothing for 7 hours, then one shows up in the middle of a conversation, and I have no idea what anyone is talking about because I can't see their chats. Sometimes I go in and it's a stale chat screen. When I restart the app, it's a blank chat screen with no history. Last night I was able to chat for a few minutes, this morning my comment didn't show up, I restarted and it was blank again.

This was happening way before R69, but now happens EVERY single time one pulls up the game.

Hi,R70 has come and I'm still having the same problems with alliance chat since R69.same problems as everyone else.it seems to work when it wants to.i've tried demiurge_ Kevin's fix.sometimes it works but not always.i also noted there was no mention of this being corrected in R70 update.it's frustrating not being able to talk to my alliance without having to sometimes wait for hrs to see a reply.does anyone know if a fix is in the works.

Especially at this critical time of season end, it is a pain to be unable to communicate with my teammates.

My alliance is far from very competitive so I'll just be very patient but I can imagine the frustration for t100 ones!
