Ok, by now it really is ages ago that I stoped actively playing this game (way before deadpool), but I never uninstalled it.

What im now asking myself, has the game gotten better and is it worth giving it another shot?

I quit when they took away true healing abilities, scaling got insane for no reason and lazy 4stars were released that were able to kill everything just by being there.
Has is gotten better? Are players safe to max lvl their cards now or will they still be punished by getting stronger enemies?

Were there any big new changes that I missed?
Im really qaiting for this game to return to a state when I can lazily play events that I like, without being forced to be on 24/7 v.v

Some help would be very much appreciated icon_e_smile.gif

Ps also I have some HP lying around.
Any advices how best to spend it? icon_e_smile.gif

It was so much fun in the beginning. . When u could collect token and cover by playing at the right times and u were proud that u finally had enough covers to make a hero playable... let's not mention getting all covers of ur first 3star.

    Any hope on the horizon?

They're somewhat listening now, at least in terms of grinding, making 8 hour refreshes for the next pve

Hmm, that sounds promising atleast =)

If I decided to give it another try, which of my old heros should I use?
I currently have enough covers to kinda use:
    The Punisher (Dark Reign)
    Wolverine (Patch)
    Psylocke (Classic)
    The Hulk (Indestructible)
    Iron Man (Model 40)
    Black Panther (T'Challa)

And I might be able to get some more for:
    The Hood (Classic)
    Daken (Classic)
    Falcon (Mighty Avengers)

Im mostly playing PvE, since I dont like PvP in general =)

Also I have err... 554k Iso.
Which WOULD be enough to max lvl some of my characters (nothing has max lvl right now), but u said they still punish us for doing so..?
Than Id just.. ignore all dat iso v.v

both yes and no. PVP is now about 4 star.png thor or x force which you dont have

well you are the 166 wall itself but you are facing 270 wall

What, you already giving up after the very first and very biased reply? I really don't know what broken 4 stars are you talking about. Back when you left the only 4 stars were X-Force and Invisible Woman and both sucked hard. X-Force now is fixed and very powerful, but there are several other powerful 3* characters that you can fight with. Scaling very much is dependant on your roster and your placement in previous events so if you were to start playing again, your scaling should be quite forgiving.

As for "not being able to play at your own pace", I've never understood that complaint. Were the Devs sitting by your side with a cocked gun ready to shot you in the nuts the moment you put down the phone? The only way you may feel pressured to play harder than you would like is by belonging to a competitive alliance which is also optional.

Anyway, Devs have been listening for a while and fixing many of the most grievous annoyances. Characters that once were laughably weak have been remade and now most characters can be part of decent, useful and fun teams which alleviates the lack of "True Healing" (which is never coming back) as you can just use other guys once the first team bites it.

If you have some HP to spend, I'd suggest getting any missing covers for the best characters you have (3* Thor, Daken, and Magneto, Patch, Black Panther and Hood). Level them up to max. Yes, you'll see other max teams, but with those characters, you'll be able to win.

I'm 90% sure that the "not playing" aspect of scaling is complete bunk. I pretty much stopped caring about pve after enemy of the state and my scaling is way worse than other people with equivalent rosters. Hell, last event I didn't even do well enough for the pity 2 star.png reward tier

Ur answer is giving me hope =)

Im currently playing a few matches to see how my lag is doing. When I stoped they changed something and I was lagging too bad to actually battle anything at all..
Now Im atleast moving again, allthough everything is kinda slow o.o
Can I change any settings to remove the lag?

Sorry, I means 3stars. I left when everything was about those golden chars and sentry.. =)

What I mean with "not being able to play at your own pace" is that at every event the new character of the previous event was boosed so much, that having or not having pretty much made the difference in the event.
So if u just skipped an event because u disliked the character... well not much hope to get back in at the next event ^^
And ur league didnt like u too much for not throwing all ur time at every single event due to rankings xD

I was considring buying covers, but wont I regret buying e.g. my last missing black panther covers the next event they make it available..?
And I just fought 2 matches and am paired with kinda high PvP enemies again.. seems like they dont only look at the last events where PvP is concerned ^^

If you like playing PvE more, I'd suggest not increasing the level of your 3 stars too much. Or, at least as you level them, keep the best 5-6 you have close together so they can form teams where everyone tanks what they should. That way you can (slowly) improve in PvP too while having an easier time in PvE.

My problem isnt being good at PvP or not, its just disliking PvP in all games in general. =)

Do u know if there is any collected information of the whole scaling/match making problem?
I really would love to put some iso into.. anything.. but I honestly dont even dare to max lvl my 2stars lmao
Thus I end up playing with always the 3 heros (2 of which r lvl to a bit over 100) and whatever is boosed v.v

PvE seems to scale to your highest leveled character, so you're safe to level them to whatever your highest currently leveled without repercussions. Level 100 seems to be the magic number, from reports on the forums.

As far as hating the PvP scheme, I feel you there. Generally speaking I pick a fitting time slice (events are now fitted into five time slices with different end times) for my schedule and play the last hour or so of the event. Usually this nets me one 3* cover, sometimes even two. Yes, sometimes you only get the 2*, but for an hour of effort, it's not as biting as spending hours and getting a single 3*.

Yeah, for PVP you will eventually face impossible teams at some point as the matchmaking creates a "natural selection" process. People with better rosters can play and play and get lots of points while people with chumpier rosters can play until only around the average points for similarly chumpier teams. Once you surpass that average, the matchmaking system will start showing you the next batch of people with more points than you, which for that same reason, have better rosters. In other words, while keeping an underleveled team may be good for PVE, you can only get so far in PVP with it.

The game is definatley worth coming back to.

    Just level your roster conservatively.

You're already on the forum - so find the best team compositions thread and go from there. Edit: Best team comps.: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17105
You do not need 3 star.png characters to enjoy the PvE side of this game.
You don't even need max-level charcters to enjoy the PvE - just teams with good synergy.

    E.g. - classic 2 star.png combo: Magneto / Storm / Hawkeye. = win fun!

    I also love PvE Gauntlet/goon nodes/Survival icon_e_wink.gif The puzzles! icon_lol.gif
Edit: But yes, for Gauntlet, you'd need to level your characters evenly.
Just don't level one character to maximum and sticking out like a sore thumb only to be beat down by "the scaling".

Yesssssssssssss! Speedshot is so satisfying, let alone Polarity Shift into Speedshot into Wind Storm. icon_e_biggrin.gificon_e_biggrin.gificon_e_biggrin.gif
  • I would say no because no major changes. I'm a "come back" player too and i stopped again because no evolution and grind for grind is not interesting for me.

But i'm staying in this forum "to trying" to make some changes even if they are minor.

I need support for my suggested topic. All voices are importants then if you like the idea don't hesistate to say it ; ).

  • i've started playing after a good break. deadpool was the latest character when i stopped. coming back, i got a heap of HP back from all the alliance upgrades i made previously thanks to the default 20-member alliance. lots of new characters and i can see some fixes have been made. xforce is very useful now though IW still is meh.

PvE seems to be better too as i never used to play it before but now it looks ok. PvP is still hard for me though. My strongest characters are:
    Hulk - 166
    XForce - 166
    IW - 166
    Punisher - 133
    Psylocke - 133

I find it really hard just to make it to the top 100 because of the match making. Basically as soon as I maxed out hulk (which was done after I started playing again recently), my opponents have been way harder. For unpopular events like the current HotShot event, I may stand a chance scratching the top 100.

disappointed that no new music is available. also **** that some of the new characters have super flashy effects which has always been bad on the eyes. i literally get dizzy and have to stop. but biggest disappointment is still the match making.

overall, i've got my interest to play this game to some level as there have been more improvements from when i stopped

  • short answer = no. the devs are still an incompotent group that doesnt communicate and insists that they know what we, the players who actually play the game (im convinced that d3 staff doesnt play or understand their own game) deem as fun.

    They couldnt be more wrong.

IMO, stay away...MPQ is as unforgiving a mistress as ever. and by "unforgiving mistress", i mean thankless grindy kick in the ****

    good luck on your comeback.

Man, there's little else saddest that seeing someone hating an activity so much, and yet, keep doing it, all while making sure everybody else know what a terrible time you're having.

you make quite a few assumptions in your statement above. I was simply contributing my answer to the OP's question. No worries though, i wont hold it against you.
