How to stay sane in MPQ

In order to stay sane you have to:

1. learn how to not regret your moves

- Did you just spend HP on 10-pack and got 0 golden covers? Bad luck, thats what it is, don't sweat it. If you like to gamble, do it again, but take it easy if its again 'empty' - tokens are lottery, live with that.
- Did you just level up a character with horde of ISO just to learn it sucks? So either take it as a challenge and try to reach the top placements using him, or say 'pfew, tinykitty happens' and next time look on Character discussion on this forum before you decide to level up a next character
- Did you grind the last PVE, woke up in the middle of the night just to grind a bit more, your wife doesn't sleep with you anymore because of that and you still did not place within top 25? Go, buy her a flower, and next time go for progression rewards only, if the time allows you, and if it doesn't allow you then just comfort yourself that there will be lots of similar PVEs in next days/weeks/months and the rewards will repeat anyway

2. learn to manage your ambitions

- Do you want to be Top player, yet you refuse to invest significant amount of $ and time to achieve it? Then just settle down with top100 or even top200 placement - its not a shame anyway
- Did you want the 4thor cover as placement reward, but you ended 3rd? There's hundreds of people who have the same ambition, live with that, you can't be the best always and all the time, let it comfort you that there's literally thousands of players who would wish to get to top10 but they just can't, and you made it!

3. learn to accept preferences of other

- Do you expect Gambit and they're just not about to release it? Hey, there are people who want Squirrel girl or Howard the duck in the game, devs just cannot please all of us at the same time, right?
- Do you hate heroics, yet they are still being released? May it comfort you that there's lot of people who actually like it

4. learn that you are just 1 fish in the sea

- The devs don't hear you? unless you are member of D3/Demi management team or a major shareholder than they don't have to, reciprocally you don't have to buy their product

5. learn that there's no reason for the game to stress you

- Is your alliance too demanding? Leave it, there's many of alliances with 20 slots searching for people, and many of them are less demanding
- Are you still nervous when you can't play and sacrifice sleep and meal just to match-3? Dude, delete the game, now!

It's too late for me, I have already gone completely loopy icon_mad.gificon_twisted.gificon_eek.gificon_e_biggrin.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_neutral.gificon_e_confused.gificon_redface.gif

Other forumites, read this and save yourselves!!

Now where's my imaginary friend gone ... Squirrel Girl, Squirrel Girl, come back ...
  • I know a guy that now suffers from multiple personality disorder from playing this game.

He used to be in a top 10 alliance, but after shield cool downs he couldn't take it anymore.

Now he created an alt account and gets more joy from trolling than he does MPQ.

Nice post! My enjoyment increased immensely once I learned to manage my expectations. Once I did that and accepted placing t50, t100 and slowly gaining covers, the game opened up.

I left a top 50 alliance for a 'retirement' alliance. If I want to hit an event hard, there are a few alliances I have a good relationship with that I can join if needed. This game is so much more fun now that I'm not tied to it every 2.5 hours.

There will be nobody on the game then because this is the base of this game... Be a nolife and grind every 2-3 hours :>

Haha...a good post, with 100% valid points all around. I've done most of these things at least once, my wife totally yelled at me the other night for playing a few matches at 4:00am. I didn't wake up specifically to play, but I WAS awake, and figured, "Eh, might as well do a PvE clear..." icon_lol.gif

But D3/Demiurge should also be proud of the user base it's gained over the last year, and that such a large portion of that user base has enough passion and interest in their game to take the time to voice their concerns. When 90% of your customers are extremely unhappy with something you've done to change your product, ignoring them and taking no action to rectify the problem is, at the end of the day, insulting. You can only show such a level of disrespect to your fans before they have enough of it, and I don't think any business can afford to lose customers on a regular basis. Maybe changes are in the works for some of the myriad issues people on these forums have brought to their attention, but it seems to me that instead of addressing them, they simply give us something else to make us angry. "They're angry about the shields? Psshh. Simple fix. RELEASE THE SQUIRRELS!"
