This is very important news for everyone. The system clock on you pc can rewind time and even hasten the pace of a tournament. Try it yourself. You can change the time to a future date and finish a tourney early!!!! This must get solved immediately!!

  • It'll end the tourney on your phone / computer, but you won't be able to log in afterwards, and rewards are sent out from the server - meaning, if you were #1 when you rolled your clock forward, it won't matter because you'll probably lose your position by the time the tournament actually ends and rewards are sent out.

    Do you have proof?

In my case I earned the punisher from the first round of smash hits. I believe 14 hours were still left and I was about 30th. You get forced down to moonstone, after like 45th. you think I didn't lose 10 spots in 14 hours? It's a problem.
  • So instead of telling the developers (if this was even real) ..you decided to tell everyone? Good thinking there champ! Not sure if dumb or troll...

I did my part and sent the ticket. I made it known because I want to accurately earn my rewards, and it's an issue when something like this happens cause I don't know where I'm accurately placed or if it happened again and I'm low in the leaderboards and get suckered into junk. Also other players could be using this to cheat into an IW reward, who really gets it then? The cheaters, do we want that?
  • Still there should be some synch. I had it several times, the tournament shows there's 2 minutes left to end but it actually already finished. The client even keeps the tournament page alive. It should show remaining time correctly by matching the time to the server's. (It's also odd why there is a difference in the first place, my PC is synced by windows time -- and the difference varies between tournaments that indicates the time on servers is all over the place -- or the displaying itself is bugged.

This should have no effect on tournaments (other than, as other folks have said, you keep yourself from playing). Are you seeing a material effect from this?

It is true that if you do this the events are no longer available. You can try and go back on your clock and return to normal but if you advanced too far, all events will be done.

Finally a dev is here. I can't confirm on this latest event, I'm guessing when it truely runs out of time I will know. But if the last time was any indication, I should when it ends. I'm only doing this now to confirm it.

Update. You can still go back and play the event after you restart. This is all really strange. What I'm doing now is fast forwarding and my current place is 99th. That's a moonstone, grey cover. I won't take part anymore and wait till it ends. I'm convinced I will recieve it when it's done. Also when I jumped back and the events were back, I earned a red cover for the standard Iron Man. Truly strange.

From what it sounds like, your clock was set back, not ahead. Therefore, the display said 14 hours left when the servers had 0 hours left. Then, the server handed out awards. If you were in 30th place when the server ended the tournament, that's the award you got. It's basically the same as thinking a package is going to arrive tomorrow, but it arrives today instead. The delivery company knew it but you didn't. Thus you were surprised.

If you were to move your clock ahead, your system would think that the tournament was over when it isn't. In that case, you won't be able to participate in the tournament, and you could lose your rank. Overall, it's best not to mess with the clock. It can have many side effects such as killing all your characters for a long time.

Right, the clock being off did nothing except make them think there was time left, which there wasn't. Nothing to see here.

You need proof man. You can't post something about this without proof. I can confirm you can participate once you restart and your spot still remains! More Importantly the devs are aware of this.

Let's settle this. This is what I'd like for you to do, please.

    1) Run your score up to a decent position in your bracket. (Possibly done already)
    2) put in the worst team you can come up with (level 15 hulk and your 2 weakest/low level characters)
    3) pick an opponent to fight
    4) begin the match, then hit pause, hit retreat
    5) select that opponent again
    6) press yield button

After that, do whatever you think is working for you to prevent you from losing your spot.
  • I think we're being trolled ..I mean even a Dev said it would not do anything , yet he keeps crusading it.

To confirm I'm holding my position, and waiting for the rewards.

Maybe, but I suppose there's some chance you stop showing up on other people's matchmaking lists or someone screwball like that, hence my suggestion.

You need to do as I directed above, or it doesn't mean squat. If you have a strong team relative to the others in your matchmaking range, you could go hours without getting attacked.

Also, what's your PvP name, so people can indicate whether or not they have seen your team?

My team is not that great, my best is an iron man like lvl 30. I have a lvl 30 black widow. According to the ranks I have about 40ish spots before I drop to red color. A whole day, it will happen.
  • If you get a reward early, take a screenshot and post it on here. That should prove whether you're telling the truth or not.

Yes. I don't think I'll get it early, just when it ends.
  • Thread title should be changed to "SYSTEM CLOCK AFFECTS NOTHING"
