I admit, I am actually conflicted this time.

I really like Squirrel Girl, but I hate all new characters in this game because every single one makes the game worse.

    Sad.

How does having cool, new characters make the game worse? Luke Cage made the game better.

    Elektra's weird.

4* Thor made the game scarier.

I can only think of a couple of new characters that made the game worse, and that's only because they were awful, and getting their covers meant not getting a better character's cover. But not in general. Adding new characters does not make the game in general worse. It makes it better. It keeps the strategy dynamic. It gives us more to look forward to.

It makes the game more dynamic at the 3*+ top end, but it slows the 2-3* transition and keeps more players away from that top end.

The fix for that for me would be to greatly increase the 3* drop rate from tokens. I don't think I have gotten a 3* from a gold token for a month (I did get one Fury but no 3*)

    Can it be this, please?

The most interesting area of the game is the 3* pool, but the game design restrict new comer to asscess this area! I dont know what to say. I have noticed that download is over 2M but wait. It is meaningless figure as how many keep playing is important.

How does having cool, new characters make the game worse?
Every single character they add makes the game harder, take longer, and overall a worse experience for literally everyone except the top ~1% or so who have the resources to keep up with it. Adding "cool, new" characters means that you have more diluted / vaulted characters, which means access is harder; it means each event that gives away any specific character will be further and farther between; it means you need to spend more resources on HP and ISO; it just generally makes the game worse in nearly every way.

Well, except the one way that counts: more people spend money to acquire and level each new character.

Believe me, I WISH the game was actually made better by new characters, because it's clearly what the devs want to do (they said exactly that) and any Marvel game deserves to have everyone's favorite hero. SG is actually one of my favorites, and I love that she'd be in the game - but I hate that her arrival - like Luke Cage and everyone else - makes the game harder for me and generally worse. They REALLY need to work on their reward structure so that "new character" doesn't mean "game is worse," but can actually be appreciated.

It only makes the game harder (which is not necessarily worse)if you want to play at the top end. I'm sure that a majority of the users of the game care very little about maxing star.pngstar.pngstar.pngstar.png or even getting every star.pngstar.pngstar.png . The small % of players that do care, like the ones who search out the forums online, are mostly way ahead of the curve. I stopped caring about keeping up two seasons ago. I have a few alliances I can merc for if I really want an extra cover. I enjoy the game more than I ever did when I was playing nonstop trying to get top spots. icon_e_biggrin.gif

I think more characters makes the game better for most players.
  • I would agree that more Characters is better if they not only fixed the rewards so you actually have a chance to get them but also got rid of the essential character infinite loop or revamp it. If you miss a new character, you are basically screwed the next event.

Adding so many more characters is like watering down the gin. Sure, there's more gin, but you don't get as drunk. icon_razz.gif
  • After the announcement of Squirrel Girl, I think the hint about something green means the next character is going to be Doop!

    And Chat is broken again.

I updated my Android game, and I can see team-up requests, but historical chat is gone, and anything I send appears when I send it but isn't there when I go back in a little later.

    Hey D3, fix your game!

It used to be great, now it's lame!

I go into alliances to say "what up guy?"

But now I get kicked before I see the reply!

Anyone updated iOS yet? I just got prompted to update, but don't want to until we know it works.
