The Deadpool game got a Marvel license, which Activision chose to not renew. As a result, all online/digital version of the game were deleted on January 1, 2014. If you'd like to play it, it can be gotten on disks presumably made before the license expired.

It's come out that D3Publishing got a Marvel license. When does it expire? Will the game suddenly cease to exist on January 1, 2015?

  • A lot more than deadpool got removed. Spiderman games and MVC games as well.

What do you mean "it's come out." Everyone knew they had a Marvel license from the get go.
  • And thus yet ANOTHER reason to not buy digital....

Yep. Gald I'm not the only person hesitant to move to full digital.
  • So if you bought it on Steam you'd be screwed? That is crazy.
  • This would prolly be deleted if any1 ever read forums anymore. Lolz

I'm playing a digital version of deadpool for 360 right now...
  • Just to clarify, taking down means you can no longer buy it online. if you already bought it online, you can continue to play it or even re-download it.

So no new customers and a constantly diminishing player base. Better but not by much. Good clarification though.

There's a thread someone on Steam which lists all of the games that have been removed from Steam. There's only one game listed (uncomfirmed) which was said to be removed someone's library but I agree with your assessment of no new customers or anything unless it comes back icon_e_smile.gif.

So glad I grabbed it for $20 on Amazon for Cyber Monday. Prime shipping, too.

...Haven't even opened it yet ._.

Don't open it. Sounds like you'll be able to eBay it for a bunch soon.
