How long did it take for you to figure out...

...that hard cap for AP per color is 30?

I never realized that until survival mode was introduced, when I wanted to see what is like when Hulk goes clap clap with 50 green in 3rd wave. And I am nearly one year in this game ... icon_e_biggrin.gif

  • It was pretty recently for me too.

Same for the "real" consequences of matching charged tiles. Much more powerful than I first thought.

not sure I follow, what does it do? Double AP increase? or something else?

(don't have her leveled nor covered well yet, so I did not really played around with her abilities yet)
  • Triple AP, triple damage per charged tile matched.

LOL. I just figured this out in the last Hulk PvP, after playing for over a year!

I was trying to save up enough greentile.png AP to one-shot a max level Hulk with Smash. Sadly, it can't be done, because you need a little over 30 greentile.png AP to do it.

There are a number a greenflag.png abilities that destroy additional tiles with increasing greentile.png AP. Without the AP cap, these abilities might break the game. That's my only guess as to why it even exists.

I learned this VERY quickly from prenerf Rags/Storm, as that team would commonly end up with me hitting 30 of almost everything if I was at all lucky.
  • In the days of environmental tiles, it was quite fun using obw & m.storm (best characters in my roster at that point in my play anyway) to stock up tons and tons of the enviro AP to be all used on the last guy. Turning the whole board green with multiple uses on desert map... using the combo on jungle map resulted in 30 AP in several abilities as you'd start to gain it faster than use it. Cold snap turning most of the board blue was cool... Fun times. I'm sure it still took quite a few times of AP being wasted before I realized it though.
  • About day 90 using MnMag and Mystique, end up with 30 black after a few cycles. Which actually if paired with Luke Cage is devastating with his cheap black.

Same for me. Used to be able to absorb a butt load of greens, then create more greens then absorb, then create until everyone died. Used to hit the 30 green mark pretty quick.
  • I've known since some of my first games. When you the tutorial asks you to choose Iron Man's power you should have instinctively checked all the available data for powers. It took me longer to notice the computer never making match 5's. I always assumed the matched 4 was the better play for the computer due to AP in the row.
