Transition Advice

An alliance mate is firmly 2* and starting to level a few 3* characters. Just by luck he has an almost fully covered X-Force. I want to tell him to level the X-Force along with the 3* characters, but I am concerned that it will break his MMR and make it impossible for him to play.
Any advice? Seems a waste to shelve a covered X-Force.

The main concern would be scaling in PVE.
If the 3* and 4* are leveled evenly, then scaling shouldn't be a problem for the roster. If however the X-Force was leveled much higher than the rest of the roster, PVE scaling may be much more difficult for the rest of the roster. Some would argue that the PVP rewards are better regardless, and level X-Force as high as possible. That's a decision I believe every player has to make for themselves.
Personally I'm keeping my 3* and 4*'s leveled as consistently as I can as I build my 3* roster. YMMV0 -
He can also level his 4* along side other top 3* characters and save extra iso for when he has enough to max 3-4 of them.
Few options would be Daken, Lthor among others - see the character forum ranking for ideas but many think that you get worse MMR with more maxed characters and it could be true0 -
If he's got a decent XF, I'd say level him to the low 100's and let him "enjoy" the rest of the transition to 3*. At 110, XF won't be hanging with the big boys and he can still use his 2*'s to mix in. He can use XF to grab more 3*'s in PVP. The issue is when XF is in distinct level difference to the rest of a roster. If he is firmly averaging level 94, keeping XF in that region should keep his MMR ok.
Once he has 3-4 well covered 3* staples that transition well like Daken, LazyThor, Hood, maybe DP if he has an XF ready to go, I'd say level the 3* into the 130's and XF into the 150's to really start filling out the rest of his roster before inching to 166 land. I realize 2 of these are vaulted right now, so he might need to be patient.
Edit - Sounds like we all have similar advice, lol.0 -
I have a XF which is L188 & Lthor L166 only.3 max out 2* and The rest which is max L50 my pve have scaling is like crazy at the past.At time I will b facing like over L200 nobs in PVE. If I will to chose again I will keep all my 3* below L100 so that it will not have a high MMR. As I'm having 70 slot now the scaling is crazy. Try to get as many 3* cover as he can first. Only start to lvl the 3* only they are useful. Only spend iso on 3* unless you have more then 10 cover. How much will he wish to spend on the game too. As u will need tone of HP to reach a high scores in pvp(shield hop) when u only having a XF only. As now in the pvp there is a lot max XF pair with 4thor. I believe low MMR will b much more better the way u want to stay in then over night you just having a XF which is L188 and your pve scaling is way more higher then before. U can try to keep all of them in lvl 94 just like the max out 2* lvl the MMR will not scaling too much. Only 1-2 max out 3* the scaling is really a lot.the last nobs in pve it will b like more then L100 of what your character is. It will b really hard to fight if only XF is in high lvl.
The barrack u will put will b stay close to the guy that have tone L166 player. As I have alt that is low MMR, I join both at the same time but it end up in diff barrack(both pvp & pve). My alt is way more easy to get into the top 100 with very little time spend then my main account I'm using. PVE player don't really need a high lvl XF to clear them, unless he only play PVP then it ok to just max out XF and 2-3 good 3*. If not just save the cover and ISO first.
Try to store up as many ISO/HP as u can. Have to see do he play pve more or pvp. I will max more then 3-5 3* when I have ISO & character that help in my PVP to reach 800 point or more in pvp just over night.( check out the character ranking as it will tell u which is good.) ISO is always a pain when now there is a lot of new character coming out like every two week.0 -
Assuming you have a maxed 2* roster, you can take a 3* to level 103 without surpassing a 2*, at level 104 they take the same stats as a 2* and thus will tank for them. 4*'s can hide behind 3* levels 221 and under, once at 222 4*'s start to tank colors over 3, so to even out your level ups until your ready to dive in, try not taking your 3* past 103 unless you want to hide a 2*, say like 2* Torch, you could hide him behind a 3* Daken and 3* Thor if you take Daken and Thor to 104, then they tank for 2* torch0
