Why some1 with a maxed female thor fight hard for Top2?

I am currently 3rd in my pve main and the 2nd place guy already have a maxed covered female thor. But still, he seems to be pushing hard to keep his spot. Other than the iso, I can't really think of any good reason why he would continue to fight so hard. Imo, the lightning rounds are much more efficient to farm for iso.

Mikeng from Immortal rage, if you are reading this and are feeling generous enough, y not slow down your pace and let others who need that blue cover to have a shot at getting it?

Alliance score. That's why he/she'd still be pushing. Especially with that alliance that is typically near the top of PvE.

They do it for others in the Alliance. There's just no way around that. If you aren't in one of the top Alliances getting that Lady Thor will be difficult. Mine has 2 Blues, one from Alliance and one from a token.

Game is still great fun without the maxed 4's. You'll eventually get to where you are facing LVL270 4* in PVP, that's when I usually stop. With some maxed 3* you can reliably hit t25, before you get the Xforce/4hor.

Maybe I'm just placating myself, but depending on your roster you don't want to go pumping up 4*'s I made that mistake with my 2* transition. I had a LVL166 Punisher and weakly leveled 2*'s.

Err, the Alliance reward is Luke Cage which most top alliances should easily achieve as it's top 100. If the person on top already has a fully covered Blue 4Thor then they really don't need to be pushing hard unless (and it's a good 'unless') they want to build a 2nd one... which is entirely reasonable.

Also, they might be keeping up in their sub for the 100HP and at least 2 tokens. These multi-sub PVE events are really where I stock up on HP and they might have some sub-mates that are nipping at their heals. Placement in the main might be a secondary outcome right now.

Some of these guys jump out to a big lead so they can mail it in at the end but still get all the new covers.

Also Fthor is one of the few characters worth having two of since she takes like 10 hours to regen from dead without a health pack (and she has multiple viable builds in different scenarios)

And the alliance rankings/rewards. . .

In PVP guys do this so they can retreat up friends to give them points in more highly contested brackets

With the amount of turnover in alliances and the huge disparity in PvE scores in an alliance there's no way anybody pushing an extra 10K points even matters compared to repurposing the bottom 5 that might have half of your score even in a top alliance.

People put up high scores either because they want to play or that they want to discourage others from playing. There could be more than 100K points in the final sub of the Simulator and you probably aren't leading by that amount over #10. While it is unlikely you finish with 0 while the previous #10 grinds super hard, the bigger the lead you started with the less likely the guys at the lower places is going to try to make a push. It is better to play more earlier and then not need to play as much at the end, versus slack on the beginning and then have to defend your placement at the last moment. Worse yet, you might even lose your placement.

Mikeng is one of the best pro grinders I know. He contributes to our Alliance greatly, and maintains Top position often. We are lucky to have him. He's an all around an amazing and consistent player in both pve and pvp. He will be greatly missed when he changes gears and goes into semi retirement.
