Roster Advice - progress and who to drop

So I’m looking for a bit of advice with where to be going next with my roster. I have a reasonable idea I think but have picked up a nick fury and a mystique recently and need to try and make space for them. My current roster is as follows.

4* LadyThor 1/0/2

3* Rocket and Groot 0/4/2 Gamora 1/2/0 Blade 1/0/2 She-hulk 0/2/1 Loki 2/1/0 Storm 2/0/1 Patch 1/1/1 Captain America 1/0/1 Sentry 1/0/1 Hulk 1/0/1 Black panther 0/0/1 Captain Marvel 1/0/0 Daredevil 1/0/0 Deadpool 0/1/0 Doc Doom 1/0 Hood 0/0/1
Gamora and Rocket and Groot are up to 53 and the rest aren’t really leveled at all

2* Wolverine 5/5/3 lvl 90 Ms Marvel 5/3/5 lvl 83 Magneto 3/5/5 lvl 70 OBW 2/5/4 lvl 70 Ares 5/2/4 lvl 50 Thor 3/5/3 lvl 50 Human Torch 4/1/5 lvl 40 Hawkeye 4/4/5 lvl 30 Storm 4/3/5 lvl 26 Daken 3/4/3 lvl 25 Captain America 1/2/4 lvl 20

Maxed IM35

I’ve got a bunch of 3* that are just 1 cover and I’m just hanging on to them while trying to max out a reasonable 2* list. Should be able to get OBW a final black from the current event and that will boost her a bit (Optimistically hoping to grab another patch cover too, we’ll see though). Been working at wolverine as I’ve been a big fan of his red being able to down a lot of things I’ve encountered in 1 hit so have nearly maxed him. Been levelling my other 2* in a bit of a mess throwing in a few levels to some as and when they’ve been boosted.

Current road map would be to improve OBW when I can. Level thor and ares some more and then probably storm (classic) and daken (storm for combo with magneto and daken for the sustainability through regen) possibly MHawkeye as well unless I've picked up something better at that point to combo him with storm (classic) and MNMagneto

I’ve got a nick fury and a mystique sitting in the countdown just now and I’m trying to decide who to drop to let them in as I’m unlikely to get enough HP to give me another roster slot before time runs out on them. I had a few options in mind, mainly 2* cap, he does have covers but I’m unlikely to level him. Beyond that I’d though either she hulk or black panther. I know that panther is good but my understanding was his covers are out of packs just now so it would be hard to get more. She-hulk just seemed to lack the wow factor that I’ve got from some others. I know dumping IM35 is an option but I’ve made use of him in some pvp lately and not just the one needing a 1*.

Please let me know if I’ve missed the mark with anything I’ve said. All input is welcome.

I approve of your general game plan. Captain America is generally unimpressive and you can easily build a new one when needed. He is mostly useful beating up goons in PvE.
If you need more room I'd consider selling Doom before Panther, as Panther's black is his best power. Doom is also vaulted, so it's not a big loss.

You should keep one 1* character for events like the current one. Never sell a 3*. You'll only get more from here. You only need three or four 2* characters. Sell some 2*s. For your group, I would get rid of Captain America, Human Torch and Ms. Marvel 2*s. Now, I never played them deeply, but I never needed to.

The essential 2*s are: Storm, OBW, Magneto, and Thor or Ares. I like Wolverine too. Hawkeye has a good rep since the buff, but I've never played with him. Never used Daken either, but I see him in a lot of PVP at mid-level, so he must be okay.

Cut back on 2*s, put their covers into ISO, and just get a foothold in 3* land. It'll seem slow at first, but the second you get competitive at that level, you'll be scoring more and more. I get about 40-50 3* covers a month now, and I'm glad I only sold a few in my early transition days before I got this advice. Don't sell your 3*s! (I sold my nine-cover Sentry for hp after the nerf, that was worth it, and I now have a new one at eight covers in the weeks since! Once you get up higher, you can play like this.)

It's good to know I'm not coming out with rubbish, cheers. I had considered dropping doom briefly but I thought seeing as how loki seemed to gain a power recently (I think) that perhaps doom might be in line for a similar treatment. Cap is definitely up for the firing squad, I used him a bit in the last PvE when he was boosted but haven't touched him since. I've got the startings of a 3* version as well.

I get what you're saying with them. As I mentioned above cap is definitely going. Human torch and Ms Marvel I'm not as convinced on as I've got use out of both of them a fair bit. Ms Marvel is nice and chunky and can make use of black which is always good and both of them saw time in the last pvp I was looking at quite successfully. If it comes to it and I need to drop more than the current 2 I'll consider them. I don't want to cripple my current capabilities though. It's nice having the space for the 3* but if I'm cutting out usable 2* for something that will sit waiting for a other covers for a while I'm not sure.

    Cheers for the input

I think it's better to hang on to the two-stars personally, as they make it a lot easier to participate in PvE.
And yes, Doom will likely get a third power, but that also means there will be new opportunities to win him.

But how many 2*s do you need? If you like Ms. Marvel, get rid of Ares. If you like Human Torch, get rid of Wolverine. There is no situation where holding onto 2*s is better than getting your 3*s upgraded. You don't need eight 2* characters.

The two-stars do your heavy lifting until you get a viable three-star team, and the OP has no three-stars even close to being viable. (good rule of thumb is that characters start to become viable around 10 covers.) A diverse two-star roster means you can rotate the characters you play in PvP and PvE and not get stuck waiting for health packs to replenish.
  • Hey guys, don't know if I'm respected enough to ask in here.
Just want to ask some advice about who should I keep and who should I drop

    This is my current roster:

    4* Elektra Unkillable lvl 70 - Shadow Step (1)
    1* Iron Man Model #35 lvl 50 capped - Repulsor Blast (5) , Armored Assault (3), Ultra-Freon Beam (5)
    3* Indestructible Hulk lvl 40 - Anger (1)
    3* Dark Regin Loki lvl 40 - Illusions (1)
    2* Marvel Now! Thor lvl 30 - Mjolnir's Might (2), Call The Storm (2)
    2* Modern Captain America lvl 41 - Star-Spangled Avanger (2), Peacemaker (4)
2* Classic Storm lvl 31 - Lightning Storm (2), WInd Storm (1), Raging Tempest (2)
    2* Modern Hawkeye lvl 17 - Blast Arrow (1), Speed Shot (1)
    2* Bag-Man Spider-Man lvl 15 - Switcheroo (1) <-- Kinda like his skill, quite "turn-tiding"

And I have a few in my waiting list to be recruited, including:

    2 x 2* Moonstone - Photon Blast [6 days left]
2* Moonstone - Control Shift [6 days left]
3* Classic The Hood - Intimidation [3 days left]
2* Astonishing X-Men Wolverine - Feral Claw [6 days left]
3* Colossus Classic - Fastball Special [3 days left]
3* Wolverine Patch - Berserker Rage [3 days left]
2* Captain Marvel / Ms. Marvel - Sonic Boom (CMIIW but I really don't see this skill too useful for me) [6 days left]
2* Marvel Now! Magneto - Polarity Shift [less than 24 hour left]
2* Marvel Now! Magneto - Iron Hammer [less than 24 hour left]
2* Dakken - Chemical Reaction [less than 24 hour left]

Another thing to mention, I have 425 HP until this second, so it's not that long to reach 500 HP for another 3 additional roster slot.

Will appreciate any suggestion from all more experienced players..

Get rid of Bagman for sure, recruit Magneto. Him and Storm are the best two star combination (Mags can drop 5 blue, which Storm can stun with), and it's a good match with Hawkeye's pink too.

I don't care for 2* Cap, I would drop that for Patch. He's just came out of rotation, so there will be a chance of his covers into the future.
