A new way for covers

How would people feel if instead of getting colored covers we just get a chr cover and then we get to decide what color to invest into? I'm getting tired of getting colors I don't need and having to sell them when it's soooo hard to pull them in the first place. They advertise this as a rpg game, so let us decide how we want to lvl our guys.

There is absolutely no way in which your proposed change isn't better for players.
So it will never happen. The point of awarding separate covers is to slow down progression. Once you complete your transition to 3*, you have nothing new to play for (until the devs release new content), so the art of game design for this game is making things take as long as possible without, quite, becoming unplayably irritating.0 -
i would love to see a wild card token introduced. pick one of any 3 star cover. make it like a super high progression award. never happen0

As a bit of a half-way point, I'd love to see the option to select either hero or villain when opening up a token (or male/female, but villain/hero probably makes more sense). That would help a bit in improving your chances at a given cover without reducing the impetus to fight for a high placement (and thus, possibly spending money on shields/health) for multiple covers.0

Honestly I think it would make them more money. The idea of pulling a chr is way better than hoping beyond hope that One would get the one color that they need. If have to pay 800 hp to open a chr slot then let me at least lvl up the chrs I have. There is nothing more disheartening in this game than selling a chr cover when all you need is one more of the chr in a different cover.0

There is absolutely no way that would make them more money. What you're suggesting would hugely lower the rarity and value of ALL covers, which would greatly reduce need for competition and the amount of time and effort every single member needs to play, therefore hugely reducing the amount of shields, health packs, and slots bought by everyone that buys such things (not to mention all the big HP and cover purchases the big money players make). It would be like if they let you start trading covers like you always hear people fantasizing about. It would sure be nice, but there is no way in hell that something like that is going to do anything but cause their profits to drop.0

While lowering the value of something isn't inherently going to make you less money, let's say HP costs are reduced by half, it's hard to see people make this up by buying more than twice as much. Note that just buying twice as much isn't good enough because there's probably a lot of undesireable side effects to inject so much HP (probably makes the game perceived as even more P2W for those who still did not spend) so you've to do better than break even.
Allowing you to pick the color of your cover is going to significantly eat away the revenue from cover pack sales which has always been the #1 sales generator since the primary reason to buy the overpriced packs is to get the color cover you never had, so what you're proposing is that this is supposed to make enough money to make up for the previous #1 source of revenue. Well, that seems awfully unlikely and would require a significant leap of faith.
Now, I see the argument for having the 3* wildcard tokens and I think that may very well generate positive revenue if they're given out as prizes. For something that you can buy it'd likely lower the expected revenue from comic packs if it was priced under (heroic token X 6), and if it costs more than that, like say 2000 HP, you'd probably be better off getting a 10-packs heroic token instead almost every single time (they're expected to pull a bit more than 2 3*s for 2800-3800 HP).0 -

I want less covers required to level a character. Let's face it 15 or so is just too much. The most consistent way is playing pvp, getting 3 at a time if you're good. Getting the occasional 4 star if you're really good. Now that would require 5 wins in the top 5 and that's when that given character comes back through rotation. So hard enough there. I'm screwed here because my transition is sucking. Let's face it here, only the players who most likely already have the character and a few covers will already be winning more. I'm not even confident in the way pve gives covers because it's usually rewarding only new characters, which does so little except add another cover I can't get. So trying to get more of these covers through pvp is just not reliable. The best you can do is play, but I seriously suggest needing less covers to level a character and at least we can usually rely on getting iso as a reward, whereas you can bet you will never get covers.0

I always had this idea, where if there isn't time constraint of how long you can keep a cover for in your cache, you could exchange for a cover in a virtual shop in terms of you had to offer 2 3* for 1 3* of your choice.0

Someone once suggested variable drop rates based on how many surplus covers are sold back by the community as a whole - so for example, if a lot of people sell their Patch covers because they don't need them, this increases the drop rate of Patch in all tokens which feature him.0
