Falcon Redwing passive

Before I submit a ticket, I just wanted to verify something. Is Falcon's passive blue skill Redwing really supposed to only convert ENEMY protect/strike/attack tiles into countdown tiles as written in the description? If that is the case, the skill is buggy as it also seems to convert your own protect/strike/attack tiles into countdown tiles also. Has anyone else noticed this?

I've never seen this behavior. Are you sure it wasn't the enemy's Falcon converting your tiles, possibly followed by your Falcon converting the enemy's Redwing tile?
  • I am certain of it. Throughout the whole event I did not fight any people who had the feature Falcon with purple skill. I noticed that the skill was turning my protect tiles that my Falcon made into countdown tiles.

Red wing is Falcon's BLUE skill

Yes fmftint you are correct that Falcon's Red Wing skill is his blue skill. I understand your confusion with my previous comment because I was pretty vague like D3 has been lately. What I was telling the mod was that I did not fight any battles during that pvp event with people who had Falcon's purple skill Bird Strike which creates protect tiles for the enemy which means that all of the protect tiles that Red Wing was turning into countdown tiles were the ones that were created when I used Bird Strike. I hope that clears things up.

What I saw happening during the event (which was trippy as hades when I first saw it) is that the enemy tossed bird strike, I converted one of his Protect tiles with my Redwing, then the enemy AI converted my countdown timer via their Redwing thus freeing my Falcon up to convert another enemy Protect tile. It was a 2-for-one bonus in my favor!

I wasn't referring to Falcon's purple skill. My guess at what you saw happening goes like this:

    1. You and your opponent both have Falcon with his blue skill reasonably covered and enough blue AP for it to take effect.

    2. You have special tiles out, your opponent has few or none.

    3. [enemy turn] Your opponent's Redwing skill triggers, replacing one of your special tiles with a Redwing countdown.

    4. [your turn] Your Redwing skill triggers, replacing the enemy's Redwing countdown with your own, which is now in the place of your own special tile you had on your previous turn.

    5. [enemy turn] Your opponent's Redwing skill triggers, replacing one of your special tiles with a Redwing countdown...

If you don't track every action in this process, it can indeed look like your Falcon is replacing friendly tiles, but he is not.

It is, of course, possible that you've run into a bug instead, but I expect others would be reporting it too, if so.

I use Falcon a lot, esp in events against goons, and have never seen this bug. In Top Gun, you do see a lot of Redwing swaps though.

What I'd really like to see is Falcon directing Redwing to take out specific tiles instead of at random. It can still be passive but let me choose where he goes. He's a smart bird, don't make him look dumb by taking out a strike tile over a sniper countdown...
