Did the developers program in kicks to sensitive areas?

Just to lighten things up a bit after the Rag nerf, let me ask for a general opinion on the below story, and whether I should feel mild rage or laugh/cry?

I had saved up 1250 hp just when the Rag nerf hit. I'd previously planned on buying a red rag cover and finally starting to use him, but then he got nerfed, so I bought my final blue Spidey cover instead. I've had 4 blue Spidey for months, with hulk tokens, heroic tokens, and even standard tokens occasionally giving me only yellow Spidey covers (I already have 3. I needed blue and purple).

So I bought the last blue Spidey cover. Then today I get my first heroic pack since, and guess what it is: a blue Spidey cover.

If the devs have programmed some kind of hilariously sarcastic AI, please let us know.

Hah, yeah, but if we live waiting for nerfs we'll never use our hp.

I don't have that kind of self-control. Instead I have 33 character slots and was buying at least a 100HP heroic every day until I realized I have too many 2* powers maxed for that to be worthwhile anymore.

Edit: just noticed I had 490 HP stocked up. Make that 34 slots!

Im sitting on almost 60k Iso and 2k HP, and that after not playing much in either the Hulk tourney or Hunt. The uncertainty (well, certainty of knowing that the desirable chars will be nuked) of the game pushes a wait and see mentality, definitely not "spend real money to get HP/Iso" which you would expect.
