Heroic Token Rates, or "Well THAT was worthless"

So I'd been stockpiling heroic tokens until I had HP to spare in case I found a 3* or 4* I didn't have. Last night I opened my heroic 10-pack from the PvP Season progression, as well as 17 other heroic tokens, and 52 regular tokens. Out of all that, I got a grand total of a single 3* (Loki) and a single 4* (She-Thor).

Gar. Bage.

I know they're supposed to be hard to get a hold of; it's part of the collectible model. But that's less than half of what the average drop rate should be.

  • I have worked some of the events and grinded to get some Heroic or Simulator Tokens and who do I get without fail....damn Moonstone every single time. Really made me angry. Also getting Thor covers when he is already maxxed out for me.

Hate to break it to you, but from d3p's point of view, your story just shows that everything is working as intended.

Less than half the "average" drop rate isn't all that bad. I'm sure many many people on the forums have had multiple consecutive 10-packs with no 3*s whatsoever.

Welcome to the new world of gaming. Now we are expected to pay real money for a small chance to acquire a random digital good.
  • You can forget the regular tokens for star.pngstar.pngstar.png but Loki and 4hor with 17 is a good rate with the actual cra..y system icon_mad.gif.

I maybe have the solution if lot of people help me supporting my suggestion topic. The link is in my signature, i invite you to read it and give a thump up if you like the idea.
  • Since each token pull is an individual event, that stinks, but is understandable.

I cannot stand finally winning a 10 pack and getting all 2*'s. So your reward for all that hard work is no reward at all. Meanwhile, someone who did not do squat, pulls a 4or blue from a standard token.

Half the average is fine. I'm pretty sure that some time you have gotten twice the average, and so it goes.

I have opened 21 event tokens with a grand total of 1 3*. I have got 467 standard, 52 + 7x10 packs = 122 heroics to open at some point seems way to much effort to sell 99% of the covers.

When you flip a coin, there's a 50% chance of heads or tails. If you get tails five times in a row, you can call **** on it, but it happens.

The drop rate is even more unlikely. Last season, I got four 3*/4* in my ten pack. This time, none.

I realize some people pay for these things (which is a little bit like buying lottery scratch cards), but just stick with the tokens you win, and be happy with what you get.

I got a Gamorra and a Hood blue from standard tokens, and a GOT from a simulator token today (the other six sim tokens were garbage). I'm happy with what I got. At this point, I try to win my covers, I expect garbage from gold tokens.

When people buy or open these things, they're aware of the drop rate in advance, right?
  • Awareness of the terrible odds doesn't stop people from playing the lottery.

It usually stops them from complaining about it though icon_e_smile.gif

My 10-pack from this season has given me the worst haul yet - only 2 3* covers, whereas in prior seasons I was averaging at least 3. My only consolation is that the two covers were Sentry and Falcon, rather than (say) Beast and Doc Ock.

Been doing really bad from heroics lately, but just pulled a green Loki from a standard. So I'm stealing your odds!

I open heroics the same way I open standard tokens - with the expectation that I'll get absolutely nothing, and absolute shock if something good is actually there.

Leave 4* at 0.1% or whatever, so it is "special".

With Cage coming, that will be 32 3*'s, each needing 13 covers (assuming they all get there eventually) = 416 (FOUR HUNDRED SIXTEEN COVERS).

If you got one a day, none were duplicated, and you got the optimal covers for each character you wouldn't cover for over a year. Except you WON'T get one a day, you WILL get duplicates, you WON'T optimize immediately, you CAN'T get some characters you can't get because they are vaulted, and they will introduce about one a month so by the end of 2015 this number WILL be 572 - almost two years time to simply cover if you could get one cover a day.

So it would be more likely two years to optimally cover -only- the 3*'s, which won't matter because with only six 4*'s the game has already transitioned to 4* to win.

And you get....two or three covers a week maybe? If you are lucky?

Solution for having "to many characters, we have to vault some" - raise heroic drop rates to about 10%. Then people will actually look forward to opening these, and you can have all characters in these tokens at once - it will be diluted, but more will drop so folks will get a varied roster a little faster.
  • Been saying this for some time now. The current drop rates are no way in line with the already low percentages announced.

It's not even a lottery, it's clearly a scam! For the whole time of this season IX, I got 1 three star out of the ten pack, and one from a regular heroic token I won. Despite the fact that I get the 300 points heroic in each PVP (yes I'm at day 180 and transitioning, and it sucks...) and lots of progression tokens from PVE events. So 2 covers out of over 30 ?? Srsly??

My only way to progress is to finish top100 and occasionnally top50 for ONE cover... The rest is obviously eaten up by the whales which I'm in competition with, in a way which just does not make sense.
  • Sounds about normal for me, Heroic 10-pack, or opening 10 regular Heroic cards or a 100 RT usually get me 1 maybe 2 3* covers. At least for the last month or so, it's been like that. Seems like the drop rates were better back in Sept/Oct.
