Attack or just shield up?

Sitting in 5th place now with a shield that expires shortly. Do I just re-up my shield for remaining time or try to squeeze a few more wins in before shielding up.

1st place has a healthy lead, not likely to catch him with time remaining. Mostly concerned with top 5 finish to get purple spidey.

I'm afraid in the few minutes it will take to play a couple matches I'll lose more in retaliations than I gain with wins, conversely also afraid standing pat at 5th will allow someone else to make a last second leap over me. Seems everyone immediately behind me is also shielded, but I can't see how close the next unshielded competitor is.

Thoughts?

It's more than 3 hours till end, I'd try to get some points under my belt before going shielded again. You would probably earn more than lose.

What is your lead over the #10, if #6 to #10 are all shielded?

Depending on what the difference is from you to 2nd and 6th place, if your shield is gonna run out anyway hit as many as you can and shield up with a lead. Otherwise watch your lead til last 15/30 min and then try to make a run if you are falling behind

Refreshed standings... 6th has crept up, only 22 rating pts behind me. 6th though 9th are clustered together between 1431 and 1408, all with shields. 10th place is 203 back.

I think I need to get up to at least 1600 before shielding for remainder of tourney...

I'm in a similar position second, i was first at the time by over 100 points, the sheild runs out with an hour and 20 mins left. 6 of top 10 are sheilded but not first. When it runs out what should I do?

Keep an eye on the unshielded people rising in the leaderboards as your shield nears expiration. If it looks like you will still make the top 5, just quickly put your shield back up. Bag Lady is not worth the hassle.

I'm cycling through matches now, until I have 3 high reward low risk battles lined up, then once my shield expires I'm going HAM for an hour, then riding out the finish with a 3 hr shield.

I've found that it usually takes me awhile after shield goes down and I attack several people before I get attacked. I can easily get a few hundred points usually before I get attacked. My shield ended 1 hour ago and i've gotten 360 points and only been retaliated by the same person a few times. Sitting at over 1700 now.

It's been hit or miss. The last double shot I was able to bang out a few hundred between shields with minimal loss.

The tourney prior (no hold barred), I would get demolished in between attacks.

Got up to 1742 comfortably in 3rd by 99 pts with nothing but shields below me. hope it holds up for a top 5 finish. don't feel like dropping any more hero pts on this tourney (already up to 250hp in shield expense, but I want that damn blue and purple spidey!)

Only got attacked twice in about 45 mins, but the last one was a -48 vs the first person i attacked after breaking shield for 26... took that as my cue to exit stage left.
