Cheating? or am i missing something?
Do boosts used on offense serve on defense as well? Because i faced someone who, after their first turn, fired off xforce green. They did match 3 green but how can you fire off xforces green after one move without boosts? It was loki event and i was facing xforce/hood/loki. Its happened several times to me before so i just need some clarification on whether boosts that you win with are there on defense as well.

I don't think they do - it might be that they had a Hood stealing your boosts? But first turn with one green match would still be too quick for that to explain
I have occasionally had instances where the AI pulled off moves when it seemed inexplicable that they could have had sufficient AP0 -
1. It's not cheating since on defense the player has no control.
2. If boosts work on defense (I've never paid attention) then at the start of the match the enemy AP count should reflect that. So keep a close eye on AP count.
3. It could be a bug?I have occasionally had instances where the AI pulled off moves when it seemed inexplicable that they could have had sufficient AP0 -
Well it could be cheating if they hacked the game somehow to give themselves a distinct defensive advantage...or...like you said its something that occurs that the player isnt even aware of. Regardless, it happens once in a blue moon so i never really pay attention but this was so blatantly obvious, being after the very first move, that i just had to say something. Oh well, such is life, i just wanted to know if the boosts stayed on defense so i could make sure to do the same.0

I've seen the AI cheat on AP-usage atleast twice with Ares. Once the AI first-turned Onslaught and once it first-turned Sunder. In both cases there was no way the AI would have been able to generate the required green or yellow AP as it happened before their first ever match-3. Also, no AP-feeding via goons or passive AP-steals via Hood. (Not that those would be able to generate 5+ or 10+ AP in a single go even if they were present...)
I've also seen the AI cheat on AP-usage with OBW's purple. She required 8 purple AP to steal and with 9 AP in stock, she executed that particular move twice in succession. Again; no goons present and no Hood present, so no AP-feeding or passive AP steals. Those numbers simply don't add up. Bottomline; the AI cheated.
I don't care that D3P/Demiurge's public spokespersons say this cannot happen. I take offense in particular at the fact that they flat out call people that experience this liars and claim that we've just misread what was happening on screen. I, and others like me, know what we've seen and from time to time continue to see. Eventually they met us halfway and asked for video-documented proof. I hope that someone will eventually deliver it, but with the unpredictable nature of the cheat and its surfacing, you basically need to be video-capturing each and every match to catch the AI in the act. I highly doubt anyone is actually crazy enough to do so. This effectively passes responsibility from Demiurge to us and leaves the bug ( [tinfoil] or intended feature to curb winning streaks, perhaps? [/tinfoil] ) to rot.0 -
Does the AI cheat? Everyone is sure they have seen this including me.
ONE combined issue I can say for sure there is that the display makes the game look like it is cheating.
1) When I make a match, the numbers update immedately before the tiles even finish falling - often faster than I can look from one side of the screen to the other. This makes it appear that I'm not getting credit for matches.
2) AI on the other hand, updates in completely the opposite way. It makes a match and DOESN'T update it's totals until it's turn is totally over and all the tiles have dropped, all the powers fired and all the noise dropped off. In some cases you can make your match before the AI's totals update if you play to fast. Again this makes it look like the AI is firing off a high level power when it doesn't have near enough AP for it.
This is particularly true if a power fires which get AI more APs that never update the total before it uses them up with another power. You basically have no idea what is going on during the AI's turn when they get a cascade (which I dislike even though I admit it wouldn't help me if I DID know what was happening).

When these two issues combine at the same time, it leads to rage and Monitor punching (mainly because no Dev is in reach). Took me a while to realize unless you play VERY slowly (which the game is designed to keep you from doing) it is very hard to keep track of who has what by watching the screen display.
I think these explain many of the issues players have.0 -

And that would be the "you misread what's happening on the screen" argument I mentioned.
It doesn't hold water in the cases I described and I am not alone in having observed those exact cases...0 -
if only we could SEE THE GOD DAMN ENEMY AP INSTEAD OF IT BEING OUTSIDE THE **** SCREEN0

Another culprit of this phenomenon is that people forget that the version of a character that they're fighting against isn't always the same build as the one they have and so you may be thinking an ability used should cost 12, but for the other person who only has 1 cover on that ability and their character just looks higher level because it's pvp boosted might only need 5 for the same ability.
but I have seen actual impossible attacks too. I can only remember one specifically because it stood out as so strange. It was Balance of Power or one of those others where 1 stars were boosted and Yelena Widow did deadly recon on the second turn after only two purple 3 matches. Even at its lowest level that costs 13 purple. It could not have possibly happened normally, even if Hood was there, which he wasn't. It's just a glitch that happens on very rare occasions is all. *shrug*0
