n+1th Roster Advice Question

I am 2*-->3* transition player and I wanted to see what everyone thought I should do about leveling.

My roster is somewhat deep into the 3* transition but my progress has been mostly blunted by vaulting (several good characters on the verge of viability who are now vaulted). I am sitting on a pile of iso (several hundred thousand) trying to decide if I should level the two 3*s that I have maxed. I had everyone soft capped at 94 or lower for a long time, but have recently brought up lcap a bit higher because he is fun to play and hopefully is a bit of a deterrent in pvp (without killing my pve scaling).

My 3* Roster (abridged):

Lazy Cap - 3/5/5 - 130
Falcon - 5/5/3 - 75 (to keep his yellow below patch)
Patch - 2/1/5 - 104
Punisher - 3/2/4 - 94
Psylocke - 1/5/4 - 88
Lazy Thor - 1/0/3 - 66
Spidey - 4/2/4 - 60
Blade - 2/3/1 - 55
Sentry - 2/2/2 - 66
Lazy Daken - 2/1/1 - 55
GSBW - 3/2/2 - 40
Gamora - 2/2/3 - 40 (I finally get event-token luck for the worst new character since late september!)
Mystique - 2/3/3 - 94
Hulk 3/2/1 - 40
Hood 3/0/3 - 40
Cap Marvel - 4/3/1 - 40 (will have more covers after this pve)
Loki - 2/2/1 - 40

So I could have lCap and falcon at 166 immediately if I wanted. Psylocke and spidey could both go into the 120s. punisher, captain marvel, and mystique could all go to 100+.

To date I have mostly held people's levels down as I don't see a clear "A-team" in that group. Psylocke and falcon could get some scary special tiles going, but that team is very squishy and doesn't cover green. cap and falcon don't cover green or black at all, and falcon's yellow is wasted on cap. punisher has both a good green and strike tiles, but he can't yet go high enough to really outclass the good 2*s. Same with Patch.

So I wanted to see if I was missing something and should level up some more of these 3*s, or if I already made a mistake bringing lcap up to 130.

Since I'm in your alliance I got a better look at your roster. I'd suggest waiting a bit before levelling up Falcon and LCap further unless you really need them in PVE to have higher damage output/health. Spider-man & Psylocke aren't really worth the ISO to build up as the focus of your transition to 3 stars but I think Gamora & Mystique will work well for you as you get more covers. 3 stars really need at the very least 9 covers to compete with your maxed 2 stars.

I would agree with red panda. LCap is good with Hood at 5 blue because Cap is very slow. You will need to still bring OBW as your A team in PVP and PVE. Falcons best partner is LDaken and you don't have enough covers for him. If you have the 2* version leveled he is who you should pair with falcon. Unfortunately you are in rang for making a jump to 3* land but you really need a lot more covers in a lot more characters. My advice would be hoard ISO. Get up to 500-600k ISO while getting as many 3* covers as possible. This way once you get the right 3* with the right covers you will be able to take advantage of them. Your Psylock is a perfect example. You have a lot of covers but you have 5 blue and 1 red. She needs to be 5,3,5 and when she is she can be very fun. She is on my PVE A team with Daken and Patch. Her cheep red and black go really well with strike tiles. Punisher is another great transition character, but he is best with 5 in green.

Spidey and punisher are the only 3* i have maxed
puns is great for quick matches.3/5/5 I dont usually blink twice if i see a hulk or xforce.. even together
I left Molotov at 3 since the countdowns get matched fairly quickly and put his red a 5 since its better to down em with 40% health than 30%

I do run falcon with 2* daken whenever possible (patch/2* daken/falcon is my go to simulator climbing team). And i agree with you about psylocke. I kept getting all those stupid blue covers! and now she's vaulted and it will be forever before I can get her red up any higher. Same with punisher. Arrrrrrrg, vaulting has cost me any extra month or two at least!. Ad much as I want to run cap with a hood, my hood is totally crippled without blue.

but the good news is that I already have 600k iso saved, so it really is just a matter of waiting for the covers. *sigh* back to grinding for new characters that won't actually be playable for months...
