SITTING IN QUEUE, with no roster space:
Any advice on good combinations would be appreciated as my roster is growing in cover strength thanks to Deadpools Daily Quest. Currently trying out + + featured, and it does OK, but not as well as I hoped, it is saving me some health packs, but long fights... though the length of the fights could be due to MMR that they keep changing and not huge damage dealing team, just a couple tanks, especially if featured is undercovered.

As I get a deeper roster and finally maxed all of my 2* and slowly building my 3* roster, I'm finding it difficult to decide who are worth building and who are worth dropping as roster space is at a premium and they are throwing new covers at us every week it seems.
I'm finally starting to take part in some PVP's and am trying to find them somewhat enjoyable, though I still seldom venture too far past 300.

Sounds to me like you have a solid grip on the -game. The thing is that a three-star isn't really ready to take over from the two-stars until you have 10 covers and can take them above level 100 at least, so right now I suggest you just keep up the good work. It's a long run to get viable -characters, and you are only just starting out. Don't be afraid to level up the -characters that are featured in PvE either, it can be very helpful.
I don't think you need to aim for the yet, but if you can get some covers it certainly doesn't hurt to hang on to them.0 -
Wow, this is quite similar to my roster plus/minus a few covers.
If in need of a roster slot, dump IM35. You rarely use him for blue, and Thor/Ares have better Red-Yellow combos. He is the most commonly dropped cover as well (along with MStorm) so he's not hard to rebuild either.
Captain Marvel: I honestly haven't found a good use for her. Her AOE black is nice, but her other 2 skills are weak. I usually prefer TinyTorch to her as both his red and black are better.
Have you hit the X-Force daily rewards yet?
The only other combination I can recommend is the CStorm/MNMags combo; good for a few pvp battles, and ok at PVE. This has a real weakness if there's not much purple on the board. OBW/Ares generally hit over their weight as well.
With Wolverine + Daken, I've generally been able to push up to 300 first day, 550 second day, Final score + shield in the last day, with quite a lot of prologue healing, and sometimes a switch to OBW/Ares if either Daken or Wolverine are downed for 10 mins. If you shield hop you could also use CStorm/MNMags +Blue/Pink boosts.0 -
a lot of useful information salute0

You're basically at the stage where you should mostly be just hoarding ISO. One of the biggest mistakes (in hindsight) that I made was sinking Iso into a few characters that I now don't use as much as I thought I would. That doesn't even mean taking them to 130+. Putting 24 levels into an underleveled Fury (lvl 70 to 94) is Iso I'd really like to have back right now, since he's still not usable. So while chances are, LThor will give you a good ROI eventually, you might max cover someone else first, and want those 36 levels of Iso lying around.
You're a few months away from even beginning the transition, so your best bet is to save your resources, see how the game develops, and then make educated decisions with more information to go on.
There are a couple of things to do for now, however:
You should really take Mags up to 94. (and respec to 3/5/5). Mags-cStorm is one of the best offensive teams in the game, let alone among 2* teams. It's even better with Hawkeye, but you can survive without him.
You want 5 blue in cStorm. The extra stun turn makes a world of difference when fighting above your head, as PvE scaling can often make you do.
As far as team builds:
For PvP:
Any combination of Ares/Thor/Wolvie + OBW/Daken will suffice, with Mags-CStorm as the backup plan.
For PvE:
Any combination of Ares/Thor/Wolvie + OBW + Daken/Johnny/Marvel, with Mags-cStorm- Ares/Thor/Wolvie/Johnny as the backup. OBW is a must in PvE, her goon control is fantastic and while it's not true healing, buffering damage with AGD helps characters sustain on health packs longer.
I only used Cpt. Marvel briefly in the balance of power, but her yellow is pretty fun if you can get some good team-up powers loaded. The cascades are pretty good and she charges TU abilities about as fast as anyone. I think Wolvie-OBW-Marvel is probably her best pairing, full rainbow team with Wolvie's strike tiles giving her black/yellow a little more oompf, and a red that can bail you out situationally. I don't think that I would sink any more Iso into her, but that's a personal decision based on how much you like the skill set.0 -

2star wolverine, m hawkeye, captain marvel is a good combo for a lot of pve and backup team when climbing PvP. Works for me anyway. The marvel yellow triggers hawkeye purple and wolverine is clean up red.0
