Not to overreact but this Rags nerf gives me the push I needed to stop playing. It was sucking up too much of my time and with the tournament scoring going haywire it was close to time for a break anyway. I was pretty determined (obsessed?) to get rags to 5 red and did so with HP level ups last week. I never spent money on the game so the HP was all from in game rewards. I can't quite balance out the effort I put into the game to earn HP for the level ups and the short amount of time I had to enjoy the results. Guess I won't be missed since I'm a free player but hopefully I helped make it fun for those that paid. This may be a long term benefit to balance but the end result will be that rags hangs out with bagman in not used land.

Anyway, don't intend to create another thread for crying about spilled milk. Just wondering who else will be stopping playing or at least taking a break.

Not out, but concerned at what this might lead too. I posted this in another thread:

This is the kind of thing that signals an end to a good game. Lack of transparency and disregard for it's player base. Bringing about a Ragnarok nerf was probably the one of the most discussed topic on this board, and the majority of people agreed that a nerf was needed, and to completely ignore any discussion that was made is disturbing. It bring a bad precedent of balancing to balance the game, and balancing to make money off the game (severely nerfing/replacing what was best and introducing a new "best"). Whether or not this is the case now, I've seen it happen enough in other games where you have to start to drop money to really keep up. Ragnarok aside the additional HP nerf bugs me in the same way, theres no reason to it besides "it gives people another way to not spend money." Now I've spent about 50$ to support this game, and up until now I haven't regretted it, and I hope I'm proven wrong but if prior experience taught me anything we might get a wave on uninstalls in the next coming months, myself included.

I've played less and less the past few weeks and this just reinforces that trend. It's on life support for me; i give them a little time to give me confidence in their ability to make a good game again or i'm out.

I'm far less interested in the game at the moment. I spent a few bucks early on but once they doubled the price of heroic tokens out of nowhere that was the only sign I needed to tell me that it's silly to spend money on the game.

after 2 months of playing the game i spent money over christmas since i figured hey, might as well and this will be a good investment. of course, i spent money on rags.

i'll keep playing but now i know that they'll nerf stuff haphazardly i don't see myself spending $50+ on anything anymore since it is just too unpredictable what they're doing and every 'balance' patch they basically screw over a bunch of players who spent ISO / HP on something that got nerfed without any way to respec or recoup the losses

on the one hand, i already paid so they've got something out of me. but on the other hand they just lost a whale going forward.

GameloftNYC, I'm in the same boat. I don't expect to get my money back, but it's the future purchases that the publisher should be concerned about.

I spent $100 to obtain five Thunderclap covers this morning, a few hours before the nerf - anyone in my position would feel like it's a lot of wasted money. I will quit if the developers don't respond to my inquiry tomorrow.

i played this game sinc oct 1st, and my motivation was faltering, and the lack of developer discussion has made the decision farely easy. i figure the next week i'll play sporadically, and if ther'es no dev response by then, i'll look back fondly at playing with some of you old timers and our intense and random discussions, and sail into the sunset.

At the moment, I'm not even sure the game staff is around any more. Virtually no developers post here, there hasn't been new content in weeks, and all recent decisions have been bad ones.

It has the hallmarks of a game that has fired all its staff and is now trying to see how much more money it can get before the plug is pulled.

If they were going to pull the plug, they would have left Rag the way it is to get more people to pay

I did an inventory on the decisions that have been made since I played this game and they have mostly been negative and anti-player.

I've honestly played Korean MMO's that were more communicative and generous to their player base. Which is pretty sad, because they are notorious for ignoring their North American players.


So,this game is going on the back burner for me. I'll check in every few months to see if its improved. But the trend doesn't look promising,


I'm not even a Rag user, I only have two green covers. This is just an accumulation of poor choices and poor communication.

the game is top 100 in the iOS app store and it's been steady there for a while. there's no way they're losing money on it or anywhere near losing money.

i hope the silence is because they're working on a real update instead of just the same events over and over. like something big enough they can remove 'preview edition' from the title screen.

I've played one match this evening for my daily supply , the shield removal in VS wrecked my plan for the next couple days ...but I am just stuck with a feeling of "I really do not have motivation to play right now, there is nothing for me to do right now"

I've played every day since launch, and I have to thank the developers for putting together a fun game. I've never engaged an F2P mobile game like this before.

But this is definitely my exit. Ice is no longer doing the excellent community support here, and I am no longer motivated to invest weeks or months on a new team strategy knowing that it might be instantly erased with an unannounced hotfix.

Does anyone have recommendations for a new game to try if I enjoyed this one?

I'm still in. My feathers aren't too ruffled. Figured the nerf was coming, and though it came harder than expected, I've got other characters I'll sub in, no big worry. Also hoping things will turn around regarding communication. We'll see!
