Gauntlet Last Stage
Hey guys,
I'm scratching my head on this last stage and I've tried various combinations and nearly completed it once if only for one mistake which left me facing XForce with 1600 HP and deadpool with 4000 HP. I had LCap/ 110 (2/5/5), Captain Marvel 156(2/2/1), Hulk 113 (5/3/5) all doing their part and taking serious licks but managed to get Cap's stun/shield out twice in the fight and destroyed 4thor with Star Spangled Slaps and Hulk Happy Hands (round of applause for that man ) but since that titanic tussle I've not gotten close since.
My roster consists of several characters at 100 or higher including BP 110 (4/4/5), Mags classic 108 (2/4/5), Doom 105 (5/5), Fury 103 (4/1/2), Sentry 102 (4/2/2), Matt Murdoch 100 (5/4/4), IM40 100 (5/4/4), Falcon 100 (4/5/3), Hood 100 (5/4/3). After this I have Ares/Thor/Daken all at 94 but there's almost no point in using any 2* characters against 2 x 4* characters + a crazy high Deadpool.
What teams are/have people using/used to get past this last node to win the Loki green cover. I mean seriously 2 x 4* at 230 and one 3* at 231, how can it be done with what I have in my roster line up (49 characters).
Any tips greatly appreciated.

this might sound dumb but take out DP 1st then somehow stun thor4* take out xforce then 4thor...if i had ur team id use ares/hood/lazy cap i think....boost and try to get a stun team up...good luck0

I beat the last node with Lcap, Hood and Ldaken. The key was really Lcap, whose shields is a gift that keeps giving. Hood and Ldaken were only meant for support. Hood to deny opp AP and ldaken to take match dmg and heal.
I targeted Xforce first because his green and black were the most dangerous. I have to stun DP before casting ability on Xforce, if not dp will jump in to block the hits.
After xforce is down, I targeted dp bec of the threat of whales. Once dp is down, thoress is less of an issue because her ability is less likely to be fired with hood DA Sstealing AP.
Once you get a blue protect tiles out match dmg becomes less of an issue. You still have to be careful about cascades.
So based on your roster, you can go with lcap and hood. Another character could be cmag for the yellow protect tiles or even fury to use his Avemgers assemble.
Good luck! (I only use ISO boosts)0 -
I think I went lcap, capt marvel and hood but boosted marvel covered yellow and black for hood for me. Boosted red and blue and went after deadpool first. Think I ate one power surge but otherwise was OK. Stuns with blue, cap red and intimidation to hurry things along was how it worked for me. Might not work if marvel can't tank most colors though.
Patch hulk powered me through some levels if you are able to do that. Your hulk anger isn't benefiting from any strike tiles in that current config. Dp sits still for aoe skills.
Hope it helps but it really is a **** shoot for those last ones. Ap denial is the best hope of making it through.0 -
unfortunately you cleared the essentials before doing node 42, which pushed your scaling higher than it needed to be. your best bet will be to keep at it with L Cap, Marvel and Hood use boost +damage all colors, +purple/blue ap, + all ap0

Hey guys,
Props for the fast responses but this game certainly teaches you to think laterally and no sooner had I asked for help than I've just completed it using a team that someone used for Node 38 in another thread. Enter OBW (Big props to this girl who's only @ lvl 88 (5/5/3), Hood, and Steve Rogers. They certainly put my 'big hitters to shame.
I went first for Deadpool because he will cause the most trouble not XForce nor 4hor, who I took out last, and yes I used my boosts because that's what they're for right, not just sitting in my stockpile looking pretty.
Now I can team up Thor/LThor with his mischievous brother and have some fun with my underpowered Loki (lvl 50 1/4/1)0 -

I think you're right and next time there's another Gauntlet I'll remember to do the last node before any of the other essentials so that it's not stooooopid hard!0 -
I used Panther-mMags-cStorm for that one, boosted 3blue/purple. Had two purple matches on the opening board. Polarity, stun deadpool, keep gathering purple/blue and occasionally cascade into enough yellow/black to have panther unleash hell.
Obviously had a lucky board, but finished it with a couple scratches, nothing more.
Edit: For reference, my XForce/Thor/DP node was around 249 when I beat it.0 -
I did Sentry/Hulk/BP and while I lost BP fairly early, I didn't have too much trouble. Took out DP first, then went after XForce, then Thor. I didn't even manage to get off a decent WR from Sentry, Hulk ended up doing a lot of the real work. Sentry ended up tanking green and taking Thor's so that I would have Hulk awake to throw out Anger tiles.0

I used Colossus and Stormneto, boosted +3 all AP and +3 blue/purple. Stunned Deadpool with an early Wind Storm, then managed another one on X-Force. I did get hit with a Smite, but I had my yellow tile out so it didn't wreck me. It just amazes me how much easier those nodes are when you have a head start in AP.0

I used OBW/Hood/LCap. Dp then xforce then t4or. Priortized purple black green in that order. By keeping those down it kept hood stealing red blue yellow and obw took them all whenever someone was able to fire a power. By the time dp was down I had caps first blue shield up negating most of the match dmg. Then it was just stun xforce red nuke rinse and repeat on t4or.0

Storm2 Mags2 Hulk0

Yes Hulk 2storm 2mags!
Finished with only hulk standing and less than 200 hp.
4thor makes a red match to gain enough ap to unleash but HULK CLAP for the win!

I replaced Lazy Cap with Punisher. Kept Hood and OBW. You have a full rainbow to play with, though cascades will still ruin you.
Punishers mix of effects - strike tiles, attack tiles and minor AoE will whittle your oppnents down while you prioritise mana draining, and before you know it executions happen.0 -
This thread is a win. It goes to show that there are Manu ways to skin a cat, be it the use of 2* or 3*.
Often it rely on the ingenuity of the player to use their best characters to overcome the gauntlet.0 -
For me, I went in with 136 , 221 , 166 (I wish I could remember which TU I had - I think one of each color )
Take out first for sure...make black a priority to stun as much as possible.....
I will admit, I ended up with a fairly forgiving board - so I left the match with a lot more health than I expected.....love that though!0 -
got it on 2nd try with cstorm/nowmagneto/im40 + blue/purple red/yellow and rainbow boosts. got them stuck in a hail of windstorms and barely even got scratched.0
-
Mine worked with hulk/patch/cmags. Berserker/anger is deadly if you get it out early!0
-
I used C Storm, MN Mags, and Hood. +6 to purple/blue Ap and MBW blue TU with 5 covers. The TU is what really saved me. Save up 22 blue Ap, then i hit the TU on one enemy, used Wind Storm on a second, then again on the 3rd. This stunned 2 of them for 4 turns and one for 5 turns. 4 uninterrupted turns, and of course Hood, gave me enough time to gather more purple and blue Ap, with a few green, red, and yellow for the other abilities. After I got going, I just Wind Storm stun, attack, rinse and repeat til there was no one left.0

How did you use Patch against Xforce? I'd like to know this trick because Berserker Rage into Wind Storm is an old favorite combo of mine. The Berserker Storm!!0 -
Just completed it with mnMags, cStorm, and cap. Focus on getting thour's health equal to deadpool and xforce. When using wind storm, stun deadpool or xforce (depending on opponents ap count). Use star spangled avenger on xforce if deadpool is stunned, otherwise throw your shield at deadpool.0
