Help?!

Hey guys I'm going through a rough time right now and could consider myself in the 2*->3* transition stage.
My current roster looks like this:

2*

OBW 3/5/5 - 94
Cap 4/5/4 - 94
Daken 4/4/5 - 94
HT 5/4/4 - 94
cStorm 5/5/3 - 94
MNThor 3/5/5 - 94
AWolvie 5/3/5 - 94 (should definitely respect the red I just realized)
MHawkeye 3/5/5 - 65 (Lvl Cap: 94)
MNMags 2/5/4 - 62 (Lvl Cap: 78)
Ares 3/2/2 - 15 (Lvl Cap: 46)

3*

Black Panther 3/1/3 - 91
Hulk 1/0/4 - 78
Psylocke 2/3/3 - 66 (Lvl Cap: 102)
LDaken 1/2/2 - 66
Falcon 2/2/1 - 66
Deadpool 2/0/0 - 50
LCap 4/1/2 - 45 (Lvl Cap: 91)
DockOck 3/1/1 - 45 (Lvl Cap: 68)
Punisher 1/1/1 - 45
IM40 1/0/1 - 43
Mystique 1/1/0 - 43
Beast 0/2/1 - 40 (Lvl Cap: 53)
Gamora 2/1/0 - 40 (Lvl Cap: 53)
Grocket 0/1/2 - 40 (Lvl Cap: 53)
Sentry 0/1/1 - 40 (Lvl Cap: 43)
Blade 1/0/0 - 40
CapMarvel 1/0/0 - 40

4*

Nick Fury 2/0/0 - 86
DDino 1/0/1 - 74
4Thor 1/0/0 - 70
Xforce 1/0/0 - 70

As you can see my roster contains a lot of 3*. I play hard in PVE events cause its the only place where I could manage good placements. I have a lot of incomplete characters with around 5-7 covers in the 3* category. I'm tired of finishing around 140 in PVP events and missing out on the 3* covers. I just need an advice from you guys regarding my roster and what course would you guys take if you wanted to take your team to the next level. I'm a F2P player with 570HP and 15K ISO (iso isn't an issue because I play A LOT)

I'm currently at day 88 for my daily rewards (I get a Hulk green cover in 2 days).

Top 50 PVE
120-150 in PVP (except BoP, I finished 18th)

I'm down to listen to all advice and pointers!

Thanks guys (& gals)

A couple of things with your 2* roster #1 get MMN and Ares up. MMN goes way too well with CStorm to not have him maxed and Ares is better than Thor.
For PVP with the Shield hopping adjustment you should be able to score higher in PVP. You should still look to use shields to help yourself score higher in PVP. With the new system comming I would score as high as you can in PVP about 3 hours before PVP ends and place a 3 hr shield. Once your are shielded look for 3 high point matches that you think you can beat. My suggestion would be use MMN and Cstorm, or OBW Thor. with about 7-8 min left in the PVP break your shield and try and complete all three matches. With this you need to boost 3 to purple and blue, and if you are using Thor 3 to Red/Yellow and 3 to Green black. By boosting the AP you are starting out ahead and should be able to get through the matches faster and place higher. Since you are only unshielded for 7-8 min you may or may not get hit. Test it out with 5 min. At 10 min you will probably get hit preety hard and will not be worth it. the difference between 150-100 is a small amount of points and you can look to sneak into the top 100 with a late push.
I would only use +3 AP to all on occasion as if you deplete them fully it will cost HP to replenish, but you do get 3 every PVP so depending on how many you have you can play around with it.

    Hope this helps
  • I agree with Wymtime. I would add that you might want to experiment with using Hulk as you have decent levels in Anger and he can be a great green generator for Thor and Ares. Black Panther might be useful as well since you have a decent level in Black.
  • You might find using your 2* Wolverine and 2* Daken with Psylocke or Falcon will do a good job. Once you get a couple more Hulk covers (hopefully black and green), you could put Hulk in there. Him and Daken are nasty together, especially on defense. Anger makes green matches, triggering Pheromone Rage, and at high skill levels, Anger does damage plus strike tiles.

Psylocke is great with strike tile makers because she has two cheap hit skills. Forget the strike tile she makes. Just let Daken make the first three, and then she can hit for 5. And her black makes an attack tile that also uses the strike tiles.

I forgot, you also have OBW. She and the Wolverine Boys go so nicely together. That extra hit from Espionage does so much.

I don't think you should have a hard time with what you have. You have all the best 2*'s maxed, except for Hawkeye and MNMags, which you should put your ISO into now. Hawkeye, not Mags. Mags, you only want to use for his purple. His blue and red are last ditch and unreliable. Hawkeye's purple is the money shot. Max him. It's not the best on defense, but it's a cheap win on offense. Get MNMags purple going, wait until you can make two blue five-ways with it, use Storm's blue, but make sure the most dangerous character is up front to be stunned, then wait a couple of turns and watch the enemy team just dissolve under the Speed Shots.

I'm transitioning 3>4, and I still use that strategy.

That's the strategy im using right now! I love that combo and I was also wondering what you guys would think regarding OBW and Wolverine. I'm currently having TON of success with those two its actually unreal!

OBW is so good that I recently started collecting her again. I sold her off a long time ago because I'd never used her. I'm not sure if I understood level 5 Espionage back then. Either way, she is always the number one kill priority on every PVP team. If you're faced with Hood, Ares, and OBW, maybe don't fight that battle. Otherwise, take out OBW first because she will hang you up if you let her get purple and blue.

So that's what I think of OBW. She's so OP that a three-star team is cautious around her. Her only drawback is that Espionage only triggers when she's the one who attacks. So you can't use her with LazyDaken, for instance. Still, her plus Patch or 2* Wolverine and another RGY character is good. Maybe Sentry because of Sacrifice. A fully-covered but not overlevelled Falcon would also work, as long as you make sure OBW tanks Blue, Black, and Purple.

I haven't put any ISO into her yet, but she was a dream in BoP.

Throwing in OBW with 2* Wolverine and Sentry is AMAZING. Wolverine uses the yellow to heal which pumps the AP needed for Sentry Sacrifice. Green could fill the field with Strike Tiles or set up WR (depending on your strategy) and with OBW purple you could easily fill up your reds... My 2* Wolverine is level maxed with 4 red covers... dealing 2900 damage with no strike tiles taken into account insane! And throw in the burst heal during matches with the blue you got yourself a team that has really good synergy (well in my case of course)

Definatly agree that OBW is the best 2* around. If you have the roster space 2 OBW is even better since she has such low health. My favorite Combined Arms or BOP is OBW, Hood, Juggs. Heal, Headbutt, steall more AP wash rinse repeate.
I would still recomned to be patient with your 3*. If you level them too fast you will be hit hard by 3* teams. The tough part about getting to 3* land is getting covers. You might end up building 200-300k in IOS before you get enough covers for your 3*. That is ok. You should hit LR as often as possible, and build as much ISO as possible before really leveling your 3*. Once you are in 3* land you run short on ISO extremly fast. I currently need close to 1.8 million ISO to soft cap my 3/4* characters and that is with 10 level maxed characters. Once you get a couple really good 3* to 140 you will be able to push to top 25 in PVP and really start building your roster.
  • All I've been doing as of late is work on LR. I started to level up Hawkeye and thinking of also maxing Ares. I don't think ill touch magneto anymore considering all I need are his blue tiles from purple ability. So ill let hawkeye get the purple hits (as long as it doesn't down him). The rest of the ISO will be going into some of my 3*. Id like to have some at ~100 (BP, Hulk and Psylocke). But im definitely enjoying playing with 2* OBW and as you said wymtime during your first post, I'm legit pushing the last minutes of PVPs to finish top 100 and get those covers (even if they are singles).
