Hello Everybody!

Looking for some advice on who would be best for defense with my current roster and if I should stop leveling any of my six transition team???

The six:
Daken 113 , 5/5/3
Hood 113 , 5/5/3
Thor 113 , 3/5/5
Patch 113 , 3/5/5
Hulk 113 , 3/4/4
Pun 113 , 5/5/3

I've gotten them all evenly to 113 but am watching the price per level go up and up and am thinking things are really going to slow down soon. Been trying different defense teams: hulk/thor , hood/thor, thor/daken

Hulk is supposed to be real good on defense, and his health is getting up there (7800) but at this point I almost think Thor/Hood is doing a better job. Hulk on defense is really the only time I use him.

Punisher also isn't really used all that much yet and just kind of sits around now but I can see how he'll replace 2* Torch with Hood/OBW for taking down goons...eventually. Use him in PVP every now and again for some black coverage.

Patch and Daken help climb. Use Thor with Patch when yellow is on opposing team. Hood/Thor works good too once things start getting ugly but he's still pretty squishy at 3500 health and tanks yellow for Thor.

I play PVP and PVE, alliance I'm currently in is all about the PVE and I don't really want to screw myself over which is why I've been doing them all evenly up til this point but thinking if I could get it down to choosing 4 or 3 of these guys it would go alot faster, and possibly still stay viable.

What do you folks think?

  • I would max out LThor, Hood,LDaken, Patch, Hulk, Punisher in that order.

LThor LDaken is a solid rainbow team. Perfect color coverage, strike tile generation from matching your deadliest color, and solid damage.

Hood does works better at lower levels so he doesn't tank as much, but needs the HP to survive PvP on defense. However, Hood does compliment LThor's need for a fair amount of AP by stealing it, so can be a substitute for LDaken.

Hulk Patch is also a solid and rapid fire team, but it is less effective for sustained pushes and only good if you want to do quick pushes.

Patch LDaken is a very good climb team as they self heal, so almost no health packs required.

I wouldn't bother with Punisher much now a days. He has been powercreeped a ton.

I agree here except for Hood if you are going to level them together. I would put Hood after Patch since he will hide better. Daken, Patch will be your new best friends on PVE as they will self heal and Patch mows through goons with BR. If you can get up to 150kish iso,(so 2-3 weeks of play without leveling), you should be able to get 3 covers to 140. This will let you place better in PVP and not be out scaled in PVE since this is the type of alliance you are in. at 140 your 3* will be much more powerful and it cost 61610 ISO to go from 140-166.

Thanks for the replies! I dropped hulk and pun off at 113 and the other four at 120 with all this PVE madness.

All four of them are really starting to be a force to be reckoned with and I've noticed that Hood & Thor win more often on defense and the only defense team I've had that I've seen beat people with 166 rosters. Not consistently of course but atleast 3-5x throughout the 1-2 events its been.

I've been leveling daken/thor/patch/hood repeat and will continue to do so until they get maxed. It has sped up quite a bit since cutting from leveling 6 to 4 and with the four of them I can still usually put something decent together even if someone has to sit out a node for whatever reason.

I'm not much for saving ISO I guess, even if the gain is only marginal by leveling it feels like a waste to let it just hang out...burning a hole in my digital pocket icon_e_smile.gif

    Thanks again!

This is right: Your first 3 should be Thor, daken, patch. Hood doesn't really need levels; he is not a tank. You want him to stay low and stay in the back. Time out front is time he spends dead. Patch/Daken as a duo are slow, but steady, and can get you to a good 500 in every PVP and get there using almost no health packs. They are also a team that people will skip early in an event - they take a long time to beat to death, and they risk getting a chunk taken out of them in the process.

Thor pairs well with Daken to do a lot of damage and climb beyond 500. Thor/Daken will jump up and surprise people; early in a PVP people will skip Patch/Daken, but they will try to fight Thor/Daken (hoping to beat Thor down before the murder train leaves the station) and some of them will lose.

I tried to keep Hood small so that Patch would tank yellow him as long as possible. This had 2 benefits: 1- less health packs for hood, and 2- another color worth of tiles counted for Patch's red. (his blue works just fine from the back of the pack where he isn't getting his face caved in and eating health packs)

Hulk is a good scarecrow, but when I climb (personal preference here) I am more likely to hit a Thor/Hulk team than a Thor/Daken team. I've accidentally lost more fights to Thor/Daken than Thor/Hulk.

Punisher is a great character; but the meta seems to have moved away from him.

Hood is a much better scarecrow than hulk - but leveling him can wait behind some of your others so you don't kill him off on offense. You will see hood in heavy rotation even at the 1300+ range - he is probably the most common character other than x-force there (at least until more players get usable 4* thor).
