I don't understand the new update

In the news and announcements board I saw some topics about updates to fix bugs on Android.

I didn't experience any of these (Nexus 4), but I just got the new update automatically anyway.

Does this have any gameplay implications?

  • Different kind of update.

This was some kind of push out to all devices; in the past that's been for either small bugs or new content that they're about to start.

But since it seems that D3 has pretty much abandoned the forums, we may never know exactly what was in this update.

Really miss IceIX. I know it wasn't his job, but still.

Edit: And to place my foot squarely in my mouth, ElectroBlast actually did post a timely news item: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1987
  • wait...is IceIX not here anymore? Can someone confirm this?

He just hasn't posted for a bit. Last we knew, he was on vaca in China. He may be traveling back, or be busy getting caught up on stuff from when he was out of office.

I meant it. Zathrus was/is cool for helping out as much as he did/does.

We've adjusted the pricing and amount of Iso-8 awarded in the latest data patch (168653). The new pricing is as follows (in USD)...

    Dead Drop - 800 Iso-8 - $1.99
    Treasure Box - 2,100 Iso-8 - $4.99
    Hidden Stash - 8,800 Iso-8 - $19.99
    Rich Deposit - 25,000 Iso-8 - $49.99
    Mother Lode - 52,000 Iso-8 - $99.99

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt that just deleting one of the middle tiers and adding an extra top tier at almost the same rates as it used to be?

The prices are definitely better - there was always a $100 one (I think it was either 25K or 35K before.) Looks like they ran an experiment with the ISO sale over the holiday and are now reacting to that.

I wonder if anybody has bought the 100 dollar one... Would be interesting to see how much people spend. Off topic, sorry. Um, yes, I too don't understand the new update... icon_cool.gif

I don't recall seeing a $100 option for iso before this update. The mother lode was $50 and was 25k iso and that was the highest you could buy. Maybe you were thinking about HP, in which case the highest option was $100.

    Ah, you're probably right.

The iso prices are terrible, imo. I'm sure that the holiday sale generated a lot of money because people thought it was a better deal, i know it got me to buy iso when i normally wouldn't. This $100 option is definitely not worth it. You get an additional 8% iso for buying the $100 pack, which seems very low to me. At least the HP gives you an additional 35% going from $50 to $100. That seems like a good enough enticement if you if you were on the fence as to buy either the $50 pack or the $100 pack. I'll just have to grind out the iso and wait for another 2x sale.

Correct. HP had a 100 dollar option, but iso only went to 50. This change is minuscule.
