selling low sentry

So I have this very incomplete, 121 sentry lv53. I just got his yellowflag.png after the nerfs, and I dont think I will be using him too much even if I was able to complete him.

I need two slots at least, one for my Ldaken and one for a blue Oct that I got from tokens, and this 250HP he gives me for selling a 4 cover is just a slip under what I need to buy another roster slot, so its two rabbits with one rock.

BUT as those senrty covers took forever to come I didnt want to make tinykitty with them. I might need even more space (Im near the day 149, to get the greenflag.png X force), so I wanted to ask if I will miss him.

Thanks in advance.

He'll probably be a required character in PvE sooner or later, but as a villain it's probably "later". And then there's the Lightning Rounds. Of course, the same can be said about Daken and Ock. If roster slots are a problem I'd prioritize keeping Daken and X-force...
  • I have some others that I dont use too, like Ms Marvel and Torch**, and also I rarely use my lv50 mStorm now that my cStorm is almost max level... do you think torch** would be of any use?

Keep the few 2*s you like, and dump the rest. Dump all your 1*s except your favorite, in case another balance of power pvp comes up. I'm building up my 3*s, and I rarely touch my 2*s. I kept six of them, all level 94. Every other one is now ISO.
  • OK, I will dump people like ms marvel (222 lv33), thor** (355 lv70), torch** (553 lv66) and mStorm* (553 lv50). I don't feel like selling wolvie** yet (553 lv70) and juggs (55 lv40, he's good for BoP).

I have maxed ares, obw, daken, cStorm and mags MN just need one cover to max, two to fix (534 lv86).

    thanks a lot.
  • UPDATE (o hope its ok to double post when theres so much time between posts, right?)

So I got another Sentry cover, 221 now and can be leveled to 66. I know that at 64 he sells for 375 HP, and now my roster is 32/32 and costs 450 HP to unlock a new slot. With fresh cut HP Im getting enough for one slot and then 0 HP, so this time Im seriously thinking about selling this Sentry.

What do you guys think? It would let me about 1 PvP from a new slot (top 100 individual, top 250 alliance) and leave a slot himself.

One thing to consider is how often you play. Since I play often, if I ever need a 1* for a Heroic or a special event, it wouldn't take me too long to get the covers. I would dump any 1*s first. Might be hard to sell a 2* because they are useful til you develop a 3* roster.

The HP bonus is very tempting, but due to the rarity of gathering 3*s, I don't think I'd ever do it. Make the decision you don't think you'll regret in the future. 1*s come and go. ISO can come and go. Most 166ers are starving for ISO, most transitioners are starving for covers.

His usefulness is something to consider, but I have plenty of 3*s I don't touch, since they aren't worth anything right now. Since I hope to be playing for a long time, they might come in handy in the future. And it is also nice to see a deep roster, even if not useful.

If I was you, I would not sell Sentry. If a 2* is ever in that position, I would sell immediately. Did it with Hawkeye, and have since rebuilt him back and use him a decent amount of time.
  • Actually I ended up using this HP sale and got a basic 5 bucks pack for 780 HP and got two extra slots, so I didnt need to sell him. As you said because 3*s are kinda rare and might be used on future its better to stay safe. For example, who would guess Beast as a necessary hero for this PvE? I could have a couple extra slots still (his one plus another one from the HP), but then I dont have that many heroes waiting.

So I bough space for my x-force (day 149!!) and just filled the other slot with a second ares that I will not level up, just to not get a 1* to come and join without asking.
  • Sell him. The price for him is great and the changes ruined him. He's become useless. So sad
  • How to sell sentry or bought him from other player?
  • How to buy a sentry from a player?

You don't. You have the option so sell characters from your roster for a modest amount of ISO - a maxed 3*-character nets you 25,000 ISO and no HP. When characters are changed (like Sentry was recently) the sell prize is increased for a little while for those who decide they'd rather not keep the character. "Selling" really just means "deleting" in this case though - there is no way to buy a character from another player.

Ok thanks as I'm still very new to all this. I'm new to this forum too.
    Now sentry is useless?
The top 3 3* is not sentry?

Sentry is no longer head and shoulders above everyone else at least. I haven't played enough with him after the retooling to say whether he's still good or not, but he can no longer pull off the "win by turn 3" trick he could before the change.

With sentry / hood is also not a 100% win right?
Also it will burns tone of ISO/hp too right?

It was never a 100% win rate - even with optimal boosts you'd still run into the occassional dry board that just didn't give you the colors you needed. But the changes have definitely brought it down from 99% or so...
Back in the old days, if you wanted to do real fast shield hopping you equipped boost for green/black, red/yellow, and all AP. The all AP boosts cost HP to replenish, the other two ISO. You'd only be able to play a few games before you'd need to put up a shield, costing HP. While the HP was up you'd skip through targets trying to find ones worth taking on the next time you unshielded.
So yeah... You had to spend quite a bit to climb the progression chart into triple digits. Can't say how much you'd typically spend though.
