edited May 2015 in MPQ Alliances
Approximately 15 members from our top-100 alliance have re-formed a new alliance to get rid of some deadbeat commanders. Formerly Earth 141, we are now Earth 270. We have slowly filled the ranks back up, and are ready to expand our global domination!

Just to be clear, we want our members to be aware of our alliance "requirements":

1) TRY to score 600 per PVP and to hit all PVE progression rewards. Extra effort if new covers are involved, or if an alliance member needs a cover. I emphasize TRY because missing these requirements doesn't automatically get you booted. Although it may get you temporarily replaced. I'll get to that in a moment. Results will be reviewed periodically and at the end of the season. Although we like players to be balanced in PVP and PVE, being strong in one or the other is just as important since we have several players that can be complementary to one another.
2) Use Line in addition to in-game chat. We like to be social, and we like to communicate.
3) Be a forum member. This forum page will be important in letting the alliance know what's going on if you may be away from the game and can't play for a period of time. We understand life happens.
4) We may occasionally swap you out for a merc. for a couple of reasons: 1. see 3) above, and 2. to win new covers. As Spock said, "Logic dictates the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few." THIS IS NOT SOMETHING WE DO ON A REGULAR BASIS, BUT EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE AWARE IT MAY HAPPEN.

I put requirements in quotations above since these are not hard and fast rules. We are competitive and like to win, but also pretty reasonable people.

Members, please sound off so you know what you're getting yourself into. icon_e_wink.gif

Highly recommend joining when we have spots open icon_e_smile.gif Earth 270 has been good to me and it is a good group of guys you want to do well for in the game. Haven't missed a new cover in PVE or PVP, and missing ANY cover is super rare. A++++!
  • Whew! Season VIII was a season to remember for the alliance. I don't think anyone knew what to expect when 17 of us abandoned our old alliance, Earth 141, to get rid of some dead weight. Reforming as Earth 270, we haven't missed a beat. There was some immediate turmoil as the new alliance was confronted with Rocket and Groot I PVE, but managed to come out of that with a shiny new Thoress cover.
    Identity Theft: #57
    Webslinger: #76
    Smash Hit: #91
    Hollowpoint Kiss: #69
    Heavy Metal: #57
Fatal Attraction: ? (didn't get the scores)
    Most Wanted: #113
    Fresh Cut: #55
    Prove Your Worth: #44
    Eight Is Enough: #37
    SEASON VIII: #57
As you can see, we are on the doorstep of being a top-50 PVP alliance. With the new additions on our roster, we have also become a top-50 PVE alliance.
    The Simulator: #67
    Thick as Thieves: #87
    Meet Rocket & Groot: #46
Meet Rocket & Groot II: #48
Take a bow. Pats on the back. Catch your breath, and let's get ready to rock Season IX. Onward and upward!
  • Most, if not all, of you already know what's listed below. Faustian Deal was kind enough to organize my ramblings from the first post. Please read. Again, requirements are in quotations above since these are not hard and fast rules. We are competitive and like to win, but also try to be reasonable.
    SOCIAL/COMMUNICATION
    1) Use Line in addition to in-game chat. We like to be social, and we like to communicate.
    2) Be a forum member.
    3) Communicate absences – preferably in advance. We understand life happens and we want to be accommodating if possible. (See SWAPS section)

    PERFORMANCE
    A) GENERAL
    1) Results will be periodically reviewed to help make sure the overall alliance remains on track for a top 100 finish.
    2) Although we like players to be balanced in PVP and PVE, being stronger in one or the other is just as important since we have several players that can be complementary to one another.

    B) PVP-SPECIFIC
    1) TRY to score 500 per event. Extra effort (higher targets) may be necessary if new/important covers are involved. Particularly if a large percentage of the alliance needs the alliance prize cover. (Please be aware that our current average is 660 and has helped get us to where we are. Try not to let off the throttle.)
    2) TRY to score 1000 in the Simulator. This number may vary, depending on how the alliance is doing in season placement.

    C) PVE-SPECIFIC
    1) Hit all PVE progression rewards. Extra effort (higher targets) may be necessary if new/important covers are involved. Particularly if a large percentage of the alliance needs the alliance prize cover.

    SWAPS
Temporary replacement may sometimes occur to win particularly valuable prizes. This is not our normal practice, but it has happened for a few events. We have allowed ourselves to finish outside the top 100 on a handful of occasions when the prize wasn’t particularly inspiring; we have also successfully absorbed 1 and even 2 absences to still finish top 100. Missing a goal doesn’t mean you will be swapped out, especially if we know in advance that it will be happening; giving us time to adapt. We want to treat these as short term replacements, and bring our members back after the event in question has concluded. (within the boundary of the enforced, 24-hour ‘cooling off’ period.) As Spock said, "Logic dictates the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few." THIS IS NOT SOMETHING WE DO ON A REGULAR BASIS, BUT EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE AWARE IT MAY HAPPEN.
Members, please sound off so you know what you've gotten yourself into.

We tried to set our performance metrics in a way that leveraged our natural strengths: of which I believe there are 2:
    * the 6-8 who routinely score > 1000/PVP. - they help keep our per-player requirement reasonable, and keep the 3-star covers flowing.
    * our PVE superstars. these guys make sure everybody gets at least 1 of every new character that drops. They are the reason we are able to crush the essentials every PVE.
Those 2 groups synergize pretty well. The PVP-specialists tend to take it in the chin during PVE due to scaling, while the PVE-specialists tend to be more transition players who are still trying to break through that 166-wall in PVP.

I'm still enjoying being part of this team; and looking forward to continued success.
  • Great alliance to be a part of! The bigger guns really help the transitioning members, not only with covers, but advice. Glad to be a part of the success!
  • Started off Season IX right where we ended Season VIII. The alliance placed 37th. Several members scored over 1000 points with Raptorius leading the way. The alliance total score of 17,979 was good for an average of 899! Keep up the good work earthlings!
  • Small drop in the rankings for this event, but the alliance score was still good enough for #48. Perhaps with Prodigal Sun running concurrently, and the alliance maintaining a top-50 score there, focus was split between the two events. Total score for the PVP was 15,012, resulting in an average of 751. Thanks to Simius, BiGGz8912, and Raptorius for the late push to get us into the top-50! Let's do it again in Starfall.
  • Did we hit the repeat button? Second #48 in a row for the alliance. And this with only 19 members posting scores! Only 3 people went over 1000 points, while the majority were comfortably around the average of 709. Average rank so far: #44. That's shooting for the stars!
  • The streak of top-50 finishes ends at seven. Just barely. Including the last two from last season, the two off-season, and the first three this season, that's not a bad streak. As it is, we were only 173 out of 50th. 755 average per member/15,101 total points. Is this a hiccup or a new trend? Time will tell. Maybe Tex-Mex will get us back on track.
  • Can you say top-50 in PVP AND PVE? Why, yes. Yes, we can. #19 may be our top finish in ANY event since we started keeping track of our results. Big thanks to Furiousx and Mvaldmar for helping us lock in the finish. And even bigger thanks to azeofspades and Project 2501 for stepping aside for the alliance! Well done, Earthers!
  • Ahhh! Much better. Back in the top-50 with a #36 finish. 17,042 total points was good for an 852 average. That's our second highest average this season, with seven members breaking 1000. Good bounce-back from God of Lies and a great rank as we head into Christmas Eve.
  • With the PVP running the day before and after Christmas, you would expect a lower score as many of us celebrated the holiday with our family and friends. And a lower score is indeed what we got. Finishing #72 with a total score of 13,493 (710 average), we were still comfortably in the top-100. That score was posted by only 19 members as one of ours left in the middle of the event!

Which leads to my next post...
  • Recruitment completed.
Earth 270 is looking to replace a member who needed a break. He does not have plans for a return, so we are looking for a permanent replacement. Not a merc.

We are easily a top-100 PVP alliance with finishes of #50, #53, #57, and #57 in the last four seasons since we started tracking scores. Since Meet Rocket & Groot last season, we have also become a top-50 PVE alliance. So if you like to win lots of rewards, we are the alliance you are looking for.

Our requirements are not too difficult. Average 600 in PVP. Hit all progression rewards in PVE. These are minimums. If you are a PVE grinder or a PVP hopping machine, even better! There are other requirements, but those are the important ones.

If you're interested, message me here or look me up on Line (honu141) with your current score in Enemy of the State and Dance of Death, your Season score and Simulator score, and your IGN and current alliance. Thanks for looking!
  • As everyone slowly recovers from the Christmas coma, we are back inside the top-50 with a finish of 49th. Our total score of 14,935 was good for an average of 747. We are also back in another way. The alliance is once again full as we welcome Mvaldmar back into the fold. Our season alliance rank has improved steadily to #51. Let's get ready to kick that door down as the season comes to a close!
  • Second PVE of the Season and another top-50 finish. In fact, it's another top-20 finish! Pretty much the entire alliance doubled the progression requirement with a few either quadrupling it or coming close to quadrupling it. 'nuff said. Excelsior!!!

We are easily a top-100 PVP alliance with finishes of #57, #57, and #40 in the last three seasons. We are also a top-50 PVE alliance with #19, #18, and #27 as our ranks the last three events. If you like to win lots of rewards, we are the alliance you are looking for.

Earth 270 is looking to replace a member that is going casual. No current plans to return, so we are looking for a permanent replacement. We would like to fill the spot immediately, but can wait until the end of the season.

We are easily a top-100 PVP alliance with finishes of #57, #57, and #40 in the last three seasons. We are also a top-100 PVE alliance with #59,#77, and #67 as our ranks the last three events. If you like to win lots of rewards, we are the alliance you are looking for.

Our requirements are not too difficult. Average 600 in PVP. Hit all progression rewards in PVE. These are minimums. If you are a PVE grinder or a PVP hopping machine, even better! There are other requirements, but those are the important ones.

If you're interested, look me up on Line (honu141) or send me a PM. Please have your current score in Most Wanted PVP and The Hunt PVE handy. Last Season's score will also factor in your acceptance. Thanks for looking!

We are a single alliance. So you will not be dropped or replaced without warning.
  • Another season, another top-100 finish. Although #86 is pretty good, it was a little higher than our usual #50something. Burnout set in with some. Frustration set in with others. Nonetheless, the alliance kept battling. Raptorious came out king of the mountain as our top member this season with a score of 11441. BiGGz8912, FaustianDeal, Honu, rickgrimes, and Simius all joined him in the 10k club. The other members' contributions are also to be celebrated as we got covers for all the new characters and finished at least top 100 in all events except one where we finished #104. Our best finishes were #36 in Unholy Outlaw PVP and #28 in Thick as Thieves PVE.

As we look ahead to Season XI, we bid farewell to BiGGz8912, Coco12551, Mvaldmar, and Reese127. We welcome back bmoney from the first days of the alliance, and the brother duo of Doubleclive and KcamsdoC. A player to be named later is still to be added. Tighten up the shoe laces and let's see if we can make a run back into the top 50!
  • Earth 270 has a vacancy for a strong PVP player. We are a top-100 alliance in both PVP and PVE. We have consistently been ranked in the 50s for the season, but slipped to #86 last season as we were dealing with some membership turnover. We'd love to have a strong PVP member to help get us back into the top-50.

As I mentioned, we do also compete very strongly in PVE and are also top-100 in that format. Our alliance has a combination of veterans and transitioners and our belief is that every top-100 we get in either format helps the transitioners improve which helps the alliance as a whole. We do go all out for new characters. We finished 28th for Star-Lord. For older characters, we go hard enough to finish top-100.

If interested, you can PM me here or look me up on line: honu141. Please provide the following: your IGN, your current alliance, last season score (and Simulator score if you know it) with your PVP average, current Meet Rocket and Groot, and current Ask Questions Later.

Thanks for the interest. Hit me up and let's talk.
Recruiting closed. Thanks for the interest!
  • We are recruiting again!
The previous applicant only stayed a few events before deciding to move on, so Earth 270 is once again looking for a permanent replacement. We are a top-100 PVP and top-100 PVE alliance. If you like to win lots of rewards, we are the alliance you are looking for.

Our requirements are not too difficult: average 600 in PVP and hit all progression rewards in PVE. These are minimums. However, we are looking for a PVP-centric member as the person who left was one of our top-8 scorers. You are a strong candidate if you can routinely hit 800-1000 in PVP.

If you're interested, look me up on Line (honu141) or send me a PM here. Please have your scores from Magnetic Mayhem and Iso-8 Brotherhood handy. In addition, your current Season and last Season scores and current season SHIELD Simulator score. We would also need your IGN and current alliance so we can take a peek at your roster. Thanks in advance!
