Steam version crashes after every round.

I've completed three rounds in Simulator tonight and each time I click the "Claim" button after points are added, the game hangs for a couple of seconds then crashes to desktop.
Anyone else getting this? I hopped onto the board expecting to find a bunch of topics about it. Was fine this morning, I reckon there's a hiccup in R65.

I am also experiencing this, but it's not every time.0

Yup, after the R65 update. Every time I win a round and click claim on the prize MPQ crashes.0
-
I'm not sure if it has to do with pressing space bar on those screens at all. Sometimes I just click through and it works fine. Othertimes I forget to take it a little slower by clicking and hit the space bar to speed it up and it crashes. Need to test it a bit more, I think.0

Happening every time here. Fine until the claim button appears. Clicking or pressing Esc, either one crashes the program. Only after the update that went out today.
Edit: Upon further review, it looks like there's some lag between hovering over the CLAIM button and when it zooms to signify readiness. It seems like clicking or pressing Esc before the zoom causes a crash, but waiting to click or press Esc after the zoom does not cause a crash.0 -
Please send in customer support tickets and include any information you can. Stuff like Operating System and any details like were mentioned in this thread are a great help.0

Hi, I'm on R65 on steam and most times that I try to claim my winnings, I get a crash to desktop.
Luckily i'm still getting the points from completing nodes in Sim but i'm not getting any of my winnings including the 1000 iso from simulation 4.0 -
Confirming this. Then, it won't let you restart the app because Steam thinks it's already running. And it won't you exit Steam. So you have to force quit Steam and restart Steam to be able to start MPQ again.0

Can confirm this, if you don't skip the animation the game doesn't crash. However, even though I know what's happening, it's still very difficult to avoid pressing the spacebar/esc as it has become a reflex action for me.0 -

Alternatively, you can force quit mpq by finding the application in your task manager (ctrl-shift-esc)0 -
You can't because the exe disappears. That's why I said force quit Steam.0

Additionally, in your support ticket, you should include any rewards you are aware that you missed, so they can be accounted for.0 -
I sent in a ticket. I also let them know that when it crashes after hitting the CLAIM button, I am not receiving my winnings from the match.0

There should be no tie that remains between Steam and the game once the actual exe container is taken down, so the entire process for MPQ should just be removed and Steam should no longer be detecting it as running.
That is, ofcourse, unless you have some cross-process code that was injected into MPQ's running process container, but was not taken down when the executable crashed. If I am not mistaken, then Valve uses process injection to hook their Steam ingame overlays into games, so I'd advise disabling the Steam overlay until the MPQ crashes are patched.0 -
After playing a bit, it only happens when I use keyboard shortcuts. Clicking on the buttons seems to be safe.0

I realised this myself today, only when you use spacebar it crashes.
if you just click with mouse it doesn't crash anymore.
i still keep accidently pressing space out of habit lol, hope i don't do this when I'm hopping in pvp.0 -

I do the same thing, lol. Luckily I didn't do it while hopping this time.0 -
Finally got around to playing some today in Webslinger. No issues on my end the entire event. I even tried to force it to fail after the event ended. Very strange.0

Yeah, this is exactly the issue. I'm still trying to force my hand away from the keyboard when a match ends. Darn muscle memory.
I keep forgetting to track if I'm losing out on prizes, too. It's crashed for me at least a dozen times, so I have no idea what I might have lost, if anything.0 -

You do lose any winnings on the CLAIM button screen if it crashes. I emails CS about it, but I doubt they'll do anything about it.0 -
Bleh, not happy to see it's not fixed yet. I crash even if I don't use keyboard shortcuts. To be fair, though, I stopped playing (i.e. spending money) many, many months ago, so they're not really going to get anything out of me either way. I'm just surprised they've let it go on for this long (or maybe not, considering some of their behavior in the past).0
