Game is unplayable

Each update has added more and more advantages to the computer

Nerfed healing, so you can't heal and move on to the next match up.

Team ups, so the computer has one more option of a move EVERY single game.

And the recent patch has stacked cascades so unfairly in favor of the computer, I barely win any matchups. I'll be twice the level of the enemy and still win with almost no health for 2 out of 3 of my characters.

And every single time, without fail, I finally get enough colors for my big/strongest move, suddenly the computer gets a ridiculously long cascade, almost killing the character with the strongest move.

Over monetized rigged garbage. That's what this game has become. You've woven so much disadvantage into the game, hoping to motivate more and more players to use in game currency and boosts that they end up bone dry, frustrated, and tempted or motivated to spend real money.

You've ruined a quality game in the name of the almighty dollar. I literally play 2-3 matches and have to use all my health packs now.

And I have a solid roster. When 3 characters at level 127 barely win against level 75 characters, I know something has gone awry.

Sorry you've had a rough time with the game lately.

I'm in the camp that feels true healing actually improved the game in the long run. OBW was such a crutch and people have found ways to live without her.

Team-ups aren't as bad as they used to be. You get a choice of three team-ups to use where the ai can only use one, and they are usually low level stuff unlike the Supernovas it used to throw at you. Plus, it's easier to see now what to expect.

What three characters are you using? Are they being used effectively? Do you need to review your gameplan? Is this in PVP or PVE?

As far as cascades, they're going to happen, but it's not rigged though it can feel that way even they happen to you. I'm not experiencing the cascades against me like you are and I play a lot. The odds are actually more in the player's favor, with the way the ai plays most of the time.

Hope things get better for you.

I play several hours almost every day and I have definitely seen the problem with the cascades. Until recently (past few days), the cascades only happened 2-3 times per week. Now, every match I play is in favor of the AI for cascades. Since I began playing in July, I'd noticed the tile drops are not random. I've accepted it because the game was still tolerable. This is no longer the case. The cascades for AI have blatantly increased.

    edit--
Here's some discussion where MPQ Lead Designer (Will) claims that IceIX (Joe?) was mistaken when he mentioned last year that the tile drop code used to be (and likely still is) altered in the form of 'streak breakers': http://www.d3pforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18491&p=243782&hilit=tile+drops#p243782

    Will claims--
"Just triple-checked in the code - there's no streak breaker, or increased odds if there are no tiles of a particular color on the board. There's always an exactly equal chance of each of the 7 tile types (except in certain missions in Chapter 1, before Team-Up tiles are introduced)"
This is not enough information to persuade that the tile drops are not influenced in favor of the AI.

Meh, as long as casinos exist, the similar business model to lure people just enough to keep paying/playing (freemium) will exist. I'm very close to just dumping this game because I prefer to play games that reduce stress. icon_neutral.gif

I'm having a different experience, though I haven't quantified it. Maybe I'm playing more defensively and not setting up the ai to make multiple matches per turn, idk. Still seems to be a matter of perception, imo. I'm just not having that bad of luck in that regard.

Since casinos were mentioned, I used to deal poker at a casino. Some players would get a bad run of cards, to the point that they took it personally and might even move to another table. Also, the winner of the hand usually tipped a chip back to the dealer. In both cases, players had the same chance to get any two cards, but one was happy and the other wasn't.

One time I was playing roulette and a lady sat down and grilled me on how the dealer had been. I finally tried to explain to her that each spin is a completely new spin and previous spins don't influence that. I know it seems like if black came up the last ten times, red will probably come up next, but it's still 50/50 odds. Yet she couldn't grasp that concept and was convinced the dealer had some influence.

Let me think of it another way, if the AI is getting so many cascades in its favor, how come people aren't getting that many more defensive wins?

Which people? Do you have access to the statistics? I would be very interested to see it if it is public somewhere. That kind of information would help to prove whether tile drops are controlled with the intention of monetary gain or not. Please link it!

    Read what I said/asked again. It's a rhetorical question.
Basically, to say it another way, if the AI really is getting such great cascades and winning, where are all the defensive wins people should be getting?

They are all mine. I have them. It's how I score so highly in PvP. I play one or two matches with the greatest Defensive team ever, and then I wait. By the time the event ends I've usually got around 2K in defensive wins. j/k icon_lol.gif

Though I would say that your team's defensive potential does have a LOT to do with how often you see those defensive win points. The other factor is that some teams are just too scary for players who are going to lose. A 2* transitioning player is going to avoid Sentry, Hulk, Hood, X-force teams like the plague. Unless you are worth 50 points to them, it's not like they are going to risk fighting those. If you are worth 50 points to them, they will likely be boosting to beat you, and if they lose; CONGRATULATIONS!!! You have earned yourself 1 point for a defensive win!

The key to earning defensive wins is to use a team that they think they can beat, but a lucky cascade or two in the AI's favor spells disaster. I honestly found myself scoring more defensive wins when I was running Punisher before I swapped him for Hulk. I don't see nearly as many defensive wins now, but I also don't see as many defensive losses either.
