So yes, she could be our long-awaited 3* analogue of oBW (not exact one, with tradeoffs and benefits, for example, oBW has no stun and no real damage dealing skills, but Raven does). And vets are going to go hard after her.

And vets are most likely the only guys, having 3 featured chars at max level and so get an event, that is fully in the favor and flavor of the vets.
No offense, Locked, this event is NOT designed by you, it is just a bit of an annoiance for the guys trying to transition and then getting served some event like this one for a new char, taken us almost at once out of competition for a top position.
But Mystique is not a good transition character. Patch, Punisher, Hulk, lazy Cap, lazy Thor, Black Panther, cMags, lazy Daken, Hood are. Taking out half of these out of rotation come next Season is going to be tough for transitioners, but that's not vets' fault. And no pretty sure 2*s with a maxed Ares are doing just fiiiine: he can hold his own against non-buffed 3*s and is, in fact, much better than most 3*s even with a minor buff, and here he has a double buff.

Of course not. Guess i said earlier, that you are not designing this.

    Ah, here we go:

But thats not what Ares will be fazing. Ares will face combos like 332 Sentry, 332 lazy Daken, 332 Hood or 270 X-Force, 332 cMags, 332 Hood and the like, as there are far to many buffed chars in and too many ugly combinations possible.
Forgive me, but i keep it upright, that this kind of event is fully in favor of the vets, even if it is not the vet's fault.
Imho , it is just a poorly designed event.

This ducks. You need to tank some or skip more to find your level competition. The event is not much more in vets' favor than the previous one, Children of the Atom, where XF, Deadpool and Colossus rocked and they are hard to get for new players. Also Patch who has been out of all tokens and rewards for an entire season.

Problem for vets is: We're facing other vets at 500 points. So I don't think we'll go to crazy points, unless we're willing to spend tons of HP for shields.
We're all in the same low points boat in this, I think.
  • So we probably agree, that we all don't favor this too much...

Currently sharing the top 10 with Sumilea and Colognisseur. Feel thoroughly out of my depth icon_lol.gif
  • I'm #23 right now with a whopping 413 pts and waiting for health packs to recharge, as everyone on my first 2 pages is currently dead. This is the lowest I've ever seen a bracket stay for this long. #1 is shielded at around 930 with #2 at 701. I don't have the time or the HP to make a real push for T2, but if I'm lucky, I might make T10, which is mostly shield and only about 100 points away.

I'm going to disagree with those who say this event is Vet friendly and against transitioners. I'm in the 2-3 transition and, while I'm going to end about 200 pts. less than usual, I'm probably going to get my best finish ever.

Edit: That terrifying moment when WR DOESN'T kill off Ares, who has 20 greentile.png and Sentry is the only one left. Then the elation of realizing that your Sacrifice tile is still on the board and he only has 150 health.

I do kinda dig going to bed last night at around 500-525 pts or so and being top 10. Other than that, man is this event painful.
  • This is now my most hated PVP, despite me having a maxed Sentry + Hood, with a decent LDaken.

Because almost every team I see is running Hood+Sentry, Hood+Ares or Hood+XForce, and I am not about to boost every single fight starting in the 300s, or use 2-3 healthpacks every fight or two either.

I think I may bet to 500 points and leave it at that.
  • FYI all, looks like a stealth tweak to the matchmaking again.
Refresh your nodes, lower teams now.
  • What is with these scores? Is it because of the MM so no 50 point matches? I'm in 10th place with 800. My friend is in 4th place with 500. Do people just not care about Mystique? Is it because it's not a season PvP so some people took it off?
  • Couldn't get past 600 pts, ran out of boosts for sentry, got attacked, got greedy(should've shielded @ 600), etc. I guess I can't gaurentee 700 pts until I get a 166 team....

Really hope I don't get kicked out of top 100 again...

626 scored Moon Roach top 50, 526 got Wolveroach #55. Of course now I can't check but I believe #1 in both brackets was around 1300.

I stayed unshielded, and attacks were few and far between. Maybe as she's no longer essential in simulator she's no longer wanted so badly?

Trust me, there were attacks. I shielded just in time to stop from losing (30? two attack's worth) points

I'd already had a lucky token drop and pulled a Mystique in time to get some benefit from the first round of the nodes in the Simulator, and now she's not essential anymore. That coupled with the fact that it was a 6 am finish for me meant I left it unshielded as an experiment.

Went to bed with 550 ish in something like 50th, finished in 84th with 516. Was only attacked 3 times overnight with 1 win-2 losses. In normal PvP I'd have expected to have been knocked out the top 100 handily in 5 hours. I'd been running a 2* team of Ares, Daken, and Moonstone, so maybe I was being skipped a lot.

As an aside, I actually found Moonstone useful in this. Was always seeing Ares/Daken/someone else in my queue, so had time to work on some tactics that seemed to do the trick. Daken eats the opposing Chemical Reaction then Moonstone counters with a Gravity Warp once all the strike tiles are gone, plus Photon Blast is crazy damage. So there we go, how to make Moonstone a viable PvP character. All it takes is a 100% level buff. icon_lol.gif

From what I've been able to gather, Demiurge restored the MMR to 'normal' mid-flight, during the last few hours of the event.

I posted this in the discussion thread regarding the MMR beta test as well, but I feel cheated. Playing from Europe is hell with 5 or 6 AM finishes. The changed MMR atleast slowed down point movement to a point where I wouldn't be getting clobbered overnight in the last few hours and had a fair shot at top 50. So I dedicated a lot of time to get to rank 40 before putting the game down. And now, thanks to Demiurge being Demiurge and ninja-editing in the last few hours, I still get to enjoy a top 200 Hawkeye again instead of the top 50 Mystique I was well in range for.

Way I see it; Demiurge owes everyone that had to leave the event early and was knocked out of top 100, a Mystique cover. And none of the gifted event-token malarky David was talking about earlier. A guaranteed Mystique cover.
