Middling player needs help

Hi, I am a recent player for about 2 months and having trouble getting much further. I have 44 characters and don't know how to proceed as I can't get much better than 300 to 350 on PvP (although I do decent on PvE but only because I am grinding). Here is the makeup of my roster, please help on finding best defense team for pvp and maybe a couple of combinations to work with and who I should start to build up since 3* covers are getting hard to find.

Only reason I have jugger and venom at level 1 was because I read somewhere that you needed some low levels so that you don't get put up against 3 and 4 star opponents--not sure if that is true. Please help.

Having been in your shoes not so long ago (today is day 120 for me), a few things come to mind. First, get Ares, Daken and OBW maxed...from there the rest will get radically easier. Generally I will run a maxed Ares, Daken** and the guest pvp hero start to finish. You'll be able (paying attention) to finish with 600+ consistently. Don't rush to level your 3* and 4* heroes until you've got a solid grip on the 2* game, or you'll get pounded and frustrated.

Secondly, find a decent alliance with whom to team up. As long as you have an active group of thoughtful players, you'll pick up a ton of ongoing knowledge and decent extra rewards along the way. Sure, they may not be T100 material (yet) but the interaction will help you get clear on many of the game's more subtle aspects. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I used polarity's guide to start me off. I will definitely get those 3 maxed out soon. As for my alliance, some weeks are better than others as people sometimes play, but not getting much in the sense of tutelage. Any suggestions for defense teams so that I don't get pounded in pvp?

At the 2 star level you'll probably still get pounded but better defense teams can lead to being skipped by more players so you might not lose as many points. The damage they can inflict can also prevent someone from hitting you multiple times. Here are some suggestions:

Ares/OBW
Ares/Daken
Thor/OBW
Thor/Daken
Thor/MHawkeye

Another good team for earning points and climbing in two, three fights is mnMgs, cStorm and mHawkeye/OBW.
But you need to respec your 2* Mag to 5 pink for this and of course, get those to max level, too.

Personally, i found it hard a couple weeks ago, to get into top 100, not talking about getting regularly 600+ points, as there are tons of transitioning players, that will easily chew you, but you will for sure score higher than 350 points. As overarching priority, i dare say get OBW max first. You will have a way stronger team with Thor and Tinytorch, as well as she will help a lot in PvEs and she fits in in nearly all other combinations of 2* combos, you might want to bring to battle...

Hey, I'm on day 135 and a 2-3* transitioning player. As sum1 previously said, mags/storm is a great combo to climb, but not for defense. I can get 500+ points with a mostly 2star roster. I usually use Thor/OBW and mags/storm. Almost always get top 100. What might also help is to play in the last hour of a pvp event. While you dont get as many points, you are more likely to get top 100 if you play fast.

I'm a 2* transitioning player and have been able to consistently finish in the 600-700 range in PvP events. I mostly avoid using mnMags and cStorm because it's too easy to retaliate against that combo. I would also stay away from OBW and mHawk because they are too easy to take out on defense (although OBW is fantastic for PvE). For me, the key is Thor/Daken or Ares/Daken. I'd recommend getting those 3 characters to 94 first and then you'll see less people taking points from you.

I'm on day 167 with a 2* roster and I can usually finish top 100 if it's a night time finish for me. What I do is to stay behind the MMR-wall, so to speak. Once I hit the top 100 or so, that makes me an open and obvious target for people with 166s, so I try to hover right around rank 125-150 and slowly creep up 100 points at a time. I only try to push past 500 at the very end of an event, but even then, I'm a pretty easy target for latecomers so I rarely get to 600 before being shoved back down.

I'd follow the advice of others and build up your 2* team, especially OBW. You're going to be in the transition zone for quite some time, so you might as well give yourself some different options. Being able to run different pairs will increase your playtime in PVP and also your ability to compete in PVE if that's your thing.
