Alliance battles/wars

Why cant we have alliances face off similar to the marvel war of heroes game? Set an event with a duration of a day where two alliances square off and they face each others members and rosters. Whichever alliance scores the most points (as determined by roster and level) gets a win. The next event the alliances with wins and similar scores are then pooled together...etc. etc. Some type of event type like that would be pretty cool imo.

    The game is set up to have a pretty heavy 'player' bias. The player can boost, the player can control which enemy combatant takes damage, the player can get match-5 critical tiles from something other than straight-line matches.. the only thing the AI team has going for it is that it gets to start every match with full health, which the player doesn't always get to do.

    Beyond a certain roster level, you are basically trading player wins, waiting for one side to need sleep (curse these human bodies) or for a nasty cascade let the AI get off a sentry-bomb (or pull a super-nova out of an unlucky, randomly assigned team-up).

    If we aren't going to play a head-to-head, synchronous fight with human-v-human the player-bias inherent in the design makes this format tough to resolve to a 'winner'.

    I would love to see a workable format like this, but I'm concerned that it would require fundamental changes to the existing play dynamic to be workable.
