Is it possible to turn off Mark Topics Read button on forums

Is it possible to turn off--or add a confirmation step--the 'Mark Topics Read' button in the upper right corner of the the board? It's in the exact same spot as the 'First Unread Post' button in the thread view. I find myself accidentally marking all topics as read simply due to muscle memory.
