One more transitioning guy...
Hello vets out there!
This is one more of the "who to level next" questions, so if you are bored by those, stop reading here
I'm transitioning player into 3* land.
Right now, i have the following roster (only putting those up, i deem worth considering, due to cover count and cover placement):
LThor: 166 - 3/5/5
Hood: 140 - 5/5/3
LCap: 119 - 3/5/5
Patch: 110 - 4/4/5
X-Force: 88 - 2/3/5
Sentry: 79 - 3/4/5
cMags: 78 - 3/4/5
BP: 76 - 5/3/3
Falcon: 68 - 2/5/2
LDaken is unfortunately low on covers and holding not the best covers at all.
Falcon added to the list, as i think he is a very nice asset in PvE for all those fights, where you have to deal with Daken and his attack tiles.
Now, where do i want to go?
First of all, i want to grow in PvP. Yesterday i finished the first time in top 25. I like it there and want to be there more often. In parallel, i play the PvEs. Roughly 90 days into the game, i don't like some aspects of PvE, but still it is a source of rewards and sometimes even covers, you can't get elsewhere.
So here are my thoughts.
a) Raise Hood to lvl 166, to have two full grown up chars for PvP (no idea, if an additional 166 char will influence scaling for PvE).
Ups: two more colours for better tile damage (black, blue).
Down: Thor is no longer tanking yellow for Hood and that is one of the colours i'm eagerly looking for with LThor max...
b) Get Sentry to max lvl.
Ups: Speedy boosts for some extra points to secure 700+ easily possible, even without having Sentry fully covered
Downs: Unsure about usability in PvE, No additional strong colour on deck
c) Bring up Sentry/Panther in parallel
Ups: A second combo, that might work well together, as Panther can provide additional attack tiles for Sentry and comes as well with a nice AoE.
Downs: Takes of course longer, raising them as twins.
d) Leave as it is for PvP and try out, whether LThor/Hood are sufficient for constantly top 25 with the state they are in. Instead, bring up the whole lot of Patch, cMags, Sentry, Panther, Falcon to the level of LCap, to deepen the roster for better PvE success and getting more alternatives for taking out PvE goons special tiles, especially with Falcon, who works very, very well against all those Dakens in the PvE universe...
X-Force is not mentioned, as i think, he will be only really up to being worth considering, when he got his 5th black. Exspecially for me, as i have been unlucky and unexperienced enough to draw and skill 5 yellow on him, just to learn, that the CD will be taken out in about 70% of all cases.
But those are just my thoughts. How about yours?

I would advise to level Sentry but he's really high-end and what is he for if you don't intend to place t1-t5? Just a high maintenance scarecrow but maxed LT is a decent scarecrow in the t25 range as well.
If you're content with t25 and generally want versatile characters, 3/5/5 cMags is the way to look. He goes well with Patch especially if you spec your Patch 5/3/5 later since Magneto's red and blue will benefit from strike tiles and yellow can mitigate some of the Patch-provided enemy damage. Magneto would also go very nicely with Thor: if you use Magneto's red, it raises the chances of Thunder Strike being devastating and leading to CTS immediately. Blue is a welcome addition. I like Thor/Hood in general but non-maxed Hood is a magnet for attacks and a maxed one tanks yellow for Thor (non-bo!). At least with Magneto, Thor would tank all his colours and Magneto would only tank blue. They have identical purple/black values so probably Thor would tank these over Magneto as well, when put in the center/left positions. He would tank if you cap Magneto anyway since you can't max Magneto yet. Magneto will also be one of the best partners for X-Force when you get more of his covers.
LC is really, really good, and goes well enough with both Thor/Hood but he's generally weak for PvP defense. Depends on your playstyle and preferences, really.
BP is subpar without 4-5 black. His blue is absolutely useless and using him for just yellow? There is competition out there on yellow.
Falcon lacks yellow covers yet meaning he doesn't need levels to be useful. Besides, his best partner is Daken who you also lack covers for.
X-Force should be pumped when you get more covers. Not terribly viable right now, and only slightly usable in PvE due to green doing some board smashing and black removing ALL tiles of a given colour (useful against many types of goons, e.g. Pyros, Grenadiers, Spies, Muscles, etc.). He would go well with your oBW/Hood/cMagneto as of now.
So, in general, look to level Magneto, LC and then Patch. Patch is the generally useful guy (no healthpack needs? Sold), but you want a build without 4s and his best partners are often Daken/BP who you can't max yet. Alas he's been rotated out of the tokens and event progression for the current season, so might wait with that a bit. He is already quite usable for PvE. Run him with oBW and Loki, for example, and enjoy. (oBW should tank purple/black over Loki.)
See what you like, which character suits your playstyle, which characters have the best synergy with your Thor and Hood. All of them do (less so Patch, though), but LC/Hood and Thorneto deserve some mention.
Edit: If you can use full 3-man teams, both Thor/Magneto/Hood and Thor/LC/Hood are awesomely strong since LC/Magneto offer better reds and strong blues while benefiting from Hood's steal and offering him help (Magnetized Projectiles makes Dormammu's Aid epically overpowered and Peacemaker leaves a nice protect tile to defend squishy Hood, and Hood can also finally use black to make LC less slow).
There are also Patch/Magneto/Hood; LC/oBW/Hood (no green, just one strong damage skill, so more PvE-focused and you might want to take Onslaught team-ups with you); Patch/oBW/Hood (more PvE-focused as well, since oBW draws attacks in PvP, but you can unshield at the very end and do some quick battles when your defensive team doesn't matter anymore, and Patch/oBW/Hood make battles quick).0 -
You have a lot of good choices there. In general, I agree with locked. cMags is probably the best investment right now, followed by LC and Patch. I will say that if you do get the last 2 black covers for BP, he should jump up the list to right behind cMags. He's a tank, his yellow is great and you really don't want to be hit by his black.
I would also suggest picking at least two of your best choices and leveling them up together -- that will give you more flexibility in PvE and PvP.0 -
Thanks a lot for your advice. So i take it:
For improving PvP position into top 10, top 5, sentry is the one to call for.
For overall variety and roster depth, it is cMags. As to my original post, i haven't considered him to much, so thanks for the heads up!0
