With the R64 update teaser given, there is a spoiler on the possible new character to be released:

I have posted possible options on this. Let me know your wild guesses! Include their possible rarity.

I'm guessing gambit becauSe 1) he was the top choice in fb voting and 2) he is once a thief so waiting in shadows is a right description for him and 3) I can't wait to see him pair with Rogue (hoping she will be in soon!)

Hopefully he gets in... since after beast and colossus, he will be the next mutant in the roster. Or, expect the unexpected. You know our devs have a lot of surprises!

I voted Nightcrawler cause he's our lovable german shadow teleport mutant with a kind heart (and all that huggable blue skin =3 ). Gambit is my second guess since he is the one that could lurk in the shadows to steal, and charm us all with that accent of his

Why do we have Star levels assigned to the unannounced characters? Why can't we get Gambit or Nightcrawler?

I am saying night crawler but a 3* version. I don't think they will be releasing a ton of 2*. I am also hopping this does not come until season 8 as this season is feeling like a grind since it was right after the aniversary week.

I do wonder who will be coming out in Dec that will have traps as that was part of the Q and A. We could get Gambit now and then nightcrawler in Dec where he sets traps and teleports tiles. Maybe Nightcrawler will have Moonstones ability, but at a cheeper cost and you can choose the tiles to move.

God I hope so too! Seriously, we just got Devil Dino, Ms. Marvel, and are about to get Blade and Goddess Thor! Two character releases per season seems like a lot of new characters.

I wish it was Cykes but it won't be. He'd be so fun to use.

If it is Gambit, which it probably will be, I am guessing at least one of his powers would be based around countdown tiles? More partners for Hood.

I hope Gambit is a glass cannon. High damage, high risk/reward character with a lot of synergy between his powers to ramp up the damage.

If it Nightcrawler it'll be cool if he is the first character (I believe) to have an evasion ability. It'd be so cool if he had a passive where he can come to the front and dodge a nuke to the face. It'll make him useful against burst characters and provide a real alternative to established partnerships.

But I want Cyclops! One of his abilities would be ricochet where it damages first character for 50% and second character for 20% and at level five would do 100%/50%/20% to all three characters or something like that. Or a blind rebound shot that does massive damage as you don't see it coming that places a countdown tile that doesn't have a number on it so you don't know when it is going to hit. Forces you to choose between chasing it to match it or take the chance and try to take down Cyclops first.

Either way, I hope the new characters are fun and interesting.

Why cuz i love the char in xmen... He's more savage than wolverine (RIP wolvie ) in the comics.
If i had to choose a second char it would be carnage.

oh man sabretooth would be awesome. Always liked him more than Wolverine. I just think his character design is crazy. There is just something disgusting about his classic costume. Maybe it's because it took me AGES to realise it was a suit he was wearing. I always thought it was his skin

I have a few guesses, there seem to be several clues within the clue, there's obviously something important about summer and/or fall as it's actually fall turning to winter in reality, the use of shadow could be revealing also, but I think people are overlooking the word "transforms". I think gambit or nightcrawler are good guesses but I'm leaning towards either havok or apocalypse. Havoc would fit both the summer clue and the transform clue given his ability to transform cosmic energy into a weapon, and apocalypse fits the transform clue as well. Anyway, just a thought.

That begs the question, what type of powers would a shape-shifter of Mystique's caliber feature?

Well if I over analyze the "Summer transforms to fall" hint, it could be referring to Scott Summers (Cyclops) but it could be hinting at seasons changing... colder weather... maybe someone Frost-y who transforms... I'm really hoping for Iceman, but it could apply to Emma Frost who has been expected as part of the Dark Reign storyline for ages.

I just hope it's not someone lame or a great character who winds up with lame skills.

"Waiting in the shadows" after they introduce charged tiles. I don't think it's much of a question.

I for one hate Gambit though. Nightcrawler is 10x cooler
