Hello all. I've been playing for a few months now (at least once daily). Have a traditional 2* Thor/Wolvie/OBW closing in on 94. Other than that, a ton of low level 2*'s with multiple covers and many 3*'s with 1 or 2 covers. My question is whether to try and join an alliance? Will being in an alliance accelerate my progress? Does being in an alliance hamper one in any way? I have done some research but have failed to find a concrete answer to my questions. :/ Basically, I am asking for advice on whether I would be better off being in an alliance or continue to wander the woods on my own?

  • There's no downside to joining an alliance, and you're leaving a lot of free rewards on the table by not joining one. You should consider joining one that matches your style of play. If you're casual you don't want to join one that has steady requirements. If you're not chatty you don't want to join one that requires constant communication. Other than that, look around on the forum for the biggest alliance you can find that has the best track record.

The downside to joining an alliance is that you're now accountable to those other players. Just make sure you join one that fits your personality/play style and you should be fine.

Joining an active alliance will definitely accelerate your progress. Generally, the better the alliance performs, the greater the acceleration. There is, of course, the small daily Iso reward you get for active alliancemates, but more importantly, there are alliance placement rewards in virtually all events (and most PVE sub-events). Being in an alliance that consistently hits the Top 100 alliance ranking nets you an extra 3* per event, which adds up very quickly. Those are the tangible benefits.

If you're the chatty type, and join a well-organized, communicative alliance, many alliances will help less experienced players with tips, strategies, etc. Ever since the Alliance system began, a lot of up-to-date practical knowledge has shifted from open forum discussions to closed alliance strategizing. Joining an alliance can boost your performance by a significant margin, if only because you'll learn to better optimize your existing time/energy/Iso/HP resources. Those are the intangible benefits.

As others have mentioned already, try to find the best alliance that suits your playstyle. There are alliances that focus primarily in PVP, those that focus primarily on PVE, and those that do both. There are alliances with no concrete minimum scores, those that require 400+ in PVP, those that require 1100+ in PVP, and those that require 50% of the top alliancemate score in PVEs. If you're looking for specific alliances to apply to, pay attention to their scoring requirements (minima and consistency) and communication requirements (Barely any comm reqs? Notifications when you need to stop playing for a stretch? FB/Line group membership? Real-time PVP coordination?). In just about any T100 alliance, you'll be expected to pull your weight in terms of event performance. You will perform better over time, but being overly ambitious can lead to burnout.
  • Make sure you are really active... or else you will get kicked

That happened to me before I went away for a while to take a break from this game

Now once again I"m searching for a new alliance.

I wish you the best of luck icon_e_smile.gif I hope you find the right alliance!
