TEAM-UPs makes MPQ boring

What is your opinion about TU?

From my points of view, except of few: juggernaut low cost or cool power BW/XF, TU are usless and no fun to use. I remember to use 2*Storm on desert map using her green and red in infinitive rounds killing all 3*max characters. To find your way how beat stronger teams was great entertainment - best example - old Cmag+Patch were fun combo "400lvl hulk killers
"...

Instead of TU every victory should give you Wild cards: 5*heroes, tokens which max any character up to 270lvl just for single match etc. That could make this game awesome again.

  • I've used them a few times lately, they can be helpful, but they are random, so it's just a bonus every now and then.

Nothing to build a strategy around.

It's taken them a lot of development, but I can't see the final goal for this.

Team Ups have changed a lot since the beginning :

    - no more Sentry used by AI,
    - no more than 1 TU used by AI,
    - random drop instead of systematic drop

It had been introduced as something as revolutionary as the Alliance creation. In the end, it's not.

It's fun, but is not essential. They could have spent the time to rebalance the old characters...

I've had this thought a few times, because let's face it, exploits are kinda fun. Team-ups have removed one of the many "broken" mechanics of the game. The devs have worked hard in the last 6 months to remove such broken mechanics. But, as the game stabilizes and "gets better" it does lose some of the stuff that some people loved. I was personally surprised to hear that some people quit because they found the game unfun without Magneto's infinite turn ability. But there you have it, exploits can be fun and without them the game can be too boring for some.

Here's the obvious reason that they are going away: exploits are unfair and we all know it. I agree though, the game won't be the same without them.

What does that have to do with TUs? Featured character Enviro crits had been gone for like half a year at that point, so at most you'd be getting only the first tier power. Which was usually hotdogs

I respect people's decision to not use TU's, but I personally find it unwise to neglect one 7th of the game. At least if I want to win at the highest rate while taking the least amount of damage. But that's just me.

Well, and now that you don't get one every match, the AI uses more than you do/can. I am finding myself using a TU every 5 matches or so.

Yeah, at only 20% drop rate, I'm finding it hard to actually replenish them without spaming your alliance way too much

Agreed. The current drop rate is now too low.

I generally like TUs, but they have totally ruined Storm. What's the point of her yellow without TUs to use? Every time they tweak team-ups they directly affect her (so far only for the worse).
  • I agree the current drop rate is too low. I beg for TUs twice every other day in alliance chat icon_e_confused.gif

Main problem with T-Us is that they're either completely worthless (like 90% of the ones you get from Dark Avengers in PVE) or so good enough that you don't want to use them wily-nilly just to have it replaced with one of the worthless ones or nothing at all. I just carry them around as a last resort measure if I'm losing and need the extra help. That means that in average I use one every 10 games or so and grit my teeth every other game that the AI unfailingly uses one.

The other problem is that when you plan for a battle, you try to bring the best team around and try to do as much damage as possible with their colours, building towards their active powers, as quickly as possible. That means that you only match T-U tiles when you cannot do anything else or when doing so will generate a cascade. More often than not, I end games with less than 6 T-U AP and most of it came as side effect of 4 and 5-matches.

In other words, it is a completely bonus feature that once in a blue moon will save your **** and you'll feel super good about it. The rest of the time it's superfluous, adds annoying fluff and gives an annoying edge to the AI. Now that they drop less frequently, I believe that alliance-granted T-Us' "loaning" times should be much shorter.

Personnaly, team ups is many times more annoying then usefull, the ai cheats in every battle and use it 90% of the time, wish they would put a on/off swith, use it or not, players choice.
Pisses me off most of the time and makes me want to quit this silly waist of time.

Just my opinion, but Team-Ups have become an AI cop-out of the "the AI REALLY wants you dead, dead, and MORE dead" variety.

I've seen too many Nick Furys, Classic Magnetos, Call of the Storms, and stupid Trap/invisible tiles you shouldn't step on pop out to deliver the final killing blows when the AI otherwise would be quite dead.

In these particular cases, the AI also manages to collect the TU tiles not by actual matching but by the cascades. It's kind of like, "Oh ****! I'm going to die if this keeps going! Here's a random crazy cascade to get me enough TUs to use because otherwise, I'll never beat that team!"

    But that's just my opinion.
