Recently I have had some players who we're looking to leave their alliance (or had left), request to join mine. I'm not sure if this is kosher but I was hoping there was a way of verifying a player's references with other commanders. Perhaps even a blacklist of sorts or a watch list? We all have had some problem players who go on to causebthebsame problems for others. Lack of consistency, going MIA, applying saying there avg 900 but you never see more than 500... Things that can make a difference.
Maybe start a list of alliances and their commanders and LINE ID (those who wish to volunteer the info) so we could communicate with each other?
Food for thought.
I'd like to hear what other commanders think

Not a commander, but can see a massive potential for abuse in something like this. Say 'Good Player X' leaves an alliance, so Commander Y gets annoyed and goes off to blacklist just out of spite. Puts Good Player X in an awkward position.
'Sides, shouldn't you be able to tell from someone's Season score whether or not they're getting roughly 500 or 900 in PvP? That's a fairly significant difference in an overall score, by even 3 events in.0 -

I like where you're going with this, but think bigger! Mandatory registration for those with powers to score 900+! Finally, all those irresponsible players can be held accountable for the damage they've wrought on the MPQ landscape!0 -
Hey Mercy. I understand ur thinking behind this, as it could be useful. But from my experience with The Tacos and The Rings, i have found it largely unnecessary. In the rare instances that we ever did try to verify a potential applicant's credentials, we just reached out to a member or commabder of the their former alliance directly and had fine results.
i hope this helps. best of luck w ur recruiting this season and beyond.

Hi Marc,
That's would I ideally would like to do. I don't many commanders personally and it feels invasive to hunt down someone's LINE ID here. All I really want is to start a list. Alliance - Coomander(s) - Contact so we know who to reach out to.
When I asked my previous candidate who his commander was... I got silence. It speaks louder than words and I'm sure I avoided something there lol.

Many players at the beginning of a season will jump in, show you 3300 season score in 2 events and another 2 events later, your *player* played you by having hit SIM for his points. Leeches and floaters are smart about their answers and this is what I wish to avoid. Yes, I can ask for a SS of SIM score but nothing beats a quick chat with his previous commander0 -

I think Captain America would not approve of this - you'd probably get Iron Man on side though and the next thing you know the community will be in Civil War over the issue0 -
Yea I can fully understand that. Last thing I want is massive confrontation. There surely has to be a way for commanders to be able to communicate with each other without it becoming a slanderous issue (or libel as such would be the case).
Maybe just a list of who's who in terms of commanders and their alliances? I'm sure we're smart enough to figure out the rest without actually posting anything.
Data collection if you will0 -
If you're looking for what players run what Alliances, there is a subforum for Alliances where most large/active Alliances list the such information you're looking for.0
-
Many alliances still use the forums, the most serious ones have their own sites however.0

*shrug* Seems like a lot of hassle for something you can effectively figure out by clicking a couple of buttons once someone's in your alliance. And really, if I were a commander, I'd be all about making sure other alliances didn't get good players. I'd mislead other alliances all I could.
"John Doe? Naw, terrible - hasn't scored above 350 in a PvP all Season. That's right, you look for someone else... heh heh heh."
(... possibly why I shouldn't be in charge of anything, ever.)
Meanwhile, John Doe actually scores 900 each PvP, but left because he got sick of scrolling through 2500 LINE messages about cats, because it was 'compulsory' to be available for communication, and Commander Tool got spiteful.
Ahem.
Anywho. I suppose I'm more of a 'see it to believe it' than 'take the competition's word for it' person.0
