Moonstone and Cap 2star

So I decided to give this game another shot and am really glad I did! Also, that 1 star to 3 star guide has been extremely helpful but sad because of my luck I suppose.
I have 6 cap star cards and 5 moonstones, should I really sell them? (I still have 3 days to decide).
Also I accidentally went 3/5 on my modern black widow, should I restart her?
Thanks for the help and fantastic information on this forum!
p.s. if any alliances are looking for an active player, please PM me. (Obviously still working on my roster...)

You will get dozens upon dozens of Captain America covers so if you do decide to sell you wont have to wait too long to replace them should you change your mind.
Captain America is a good character once you get his moves going, just takes a while to build the initial AP to start him off.0 -

3* Cap, yes. 2* Cap, no. 2* Cap just sucks; period. He's only good when part of the boosted crowd for an event.0 -
Don't bother respeccing MBW, very soon you'll blaze past the point where she's needed or useful any more and she'll only become useful again during the next Balance of Power. Unless you are buying lots of hero points at this point, you'll soon need to erase her to add someone more useful to your rooster (almost everybody else). Cap is good enough if that's the better covered character that you have, but he will also be outclassed soon by a myriad of better 2* characters. Moonstone in unequivocally worthless. Don't spend a single Iso on her.0

Slight disagreement here. In the end, when fully covered, yes, 2* cap ain't got nothing on 3* cap, but based on amount of time it takes to fully cover a 2* vs 3*, usefulness of 2* cap is nothing to scoff at. I'm on day 143. I made a lot of mistakes since I didn't know how the long term game plays out, but my 2* Cap is still useful, 3* Cap getting there. 3* Cap you can be a offensive and defensive star on a team, 2* Cap is more of a role player.
I haven't seen any reason to pick up Moonstone, but that's more b/c roster space is scarce for me. I was late to the party on Ares' usefulness and real late on 2* Daken, although he became a lot better after being buffed.0 -

Nope 2 star cap just suck, power are too expensive and not providing any damage to the team. There are way better character to use for countdown control, like OBW, mBW, Cstorm and a lot more. Cap 2* usefulness is on par with bagman, bullseye and moonstone.0 -

I wouldn't level him, since eventually, he'll be tossed, but it would be a good idea to fully cover him. He's a good supplement for countdown control, when you don't have enough blue to trigger OBW, and for matches where you're facing high level goons, you can use his yellow and red to make matches. He's not built to deal damage. A good team of role players can eventually win out.0 -

Are you trolling?
Not enough AP to use OBW blue so you can use Cap yellow? Are you reading after yourself?0 -

My 3* Cap is only 234, will be 244 after I get the red cover for PVE. My 2* Cap is 355. I can overwrite tiles with red and blue with 2*, but not 3* for a while. The latest goon only nodes in PVE, I'm facing level 200 to 300 goons. I'm using 2* Cap, Mod Mag and OBW. With such high level opponents, there are times when you won't have enough blue to trigger OBW or purple to trigger Mod Mag. So it does make it easier to be able to throw a red to take out a single tile or surround a few yellows with another yellow. I try to make it out of these nodes without taking any damage, and using the yellows to create critical tiles also makes the round go by quicker.0 -
A 2* 3/5/5 Cap is better than undercovered buffed 3* Cap for PvE for the reasons lukewin mentioned. I used him, Moonstone and Torch (2*) in the current PvE a couple of times. It was great. It should also be noted that, however, 2* Cap and Moonstone are lower tier 2* characters.0
-
I just can't bring myself to use 2* cap until they give his red some more damage, then I would gladly use him.0
-
2* Cap is not great, but as your options are limited at the 2* level, he's good to have around, especially since he makes appearances in Heroic events and buffed PVE events. He's okay when buffed.
I'd prioritize all other 2* characters except Moonstone and Bullseye though.
I would skip moonstone, she's junk and garbage even when boosted.0 -

When starting out I found 2* Cap to be a real game changer, once I had enough AP to get his moves rolling. Many a time his blue helped me stun lock goons, his red was almost self sustaining and his yellow rarely got used as it was too overpriced.
Now I am in the 3* range he would not get a look in, but for those who are just starting he is really really good, especially as his covers drop seemingly every other match or from every second token.0 -
Cap 2* is essential for goon pve, though level maxing him isn't as important as his abilities.
You're not going to get 5 blue covers and 5 red covers quickly in 3* cap to let him overwrite tiles.
If you don't have a x/5/5 2* cap, unless you've got a x/5/5 3* cap, you're missing out and will continue to do worse than you should in PVE.
I think Cap 2*, MStorm, OBW is probably the best easily obtainable goon squad at the moment. You've got a use for every color.
dmg + tile overwrite
stun+tile overwrite or OBW if you need
tile destruction
ap steal
cover tiles + dmg
cascade generation
Also, if the enemy has 3 abilities, eg like the Mafia Don's , enough AP to use multiple abilities, but you block all the yellow tiles, he won't use his other abilities! (probably an AI bug?)0 -
I sold Moonstone yesterday finally, was hard to find her through the cobwebs. Cap2 is next on the chopping block for me. I'm holding him with the hope they address his abysmal red, as he does have PvE value like others noted.
The biggest issue is there are way better reds (Thor, Johnny, Hawkeye, Ares) for cheaper at 2* level, so you're either using his inferior damage dealer just to cover CDs, or you're reducing him to a one color pony (blue), of which he's also considerably weaker (cStorm, OBW).
That makes him at best the 3rd wheel for a strong two-some.
If he's one of the first characters you can get covers for at 2*, then he's essential. Once you get the big boys (Ares, Thor etc..), his usage will plummet.0 -

That doesn't change she is still lower tier all things considered. Her purple loses all its power once there are special tiles on more than one type of tile. Her red is dependant on the number of red tiles on the board. Considering it costs 11, you won't be able to cast it quickly. You will also wait for some more red tiles on the board after you collected enough to fire it off. Black is overcosted for what it does.
Also, check yogi's Most Compatible Teams post at the Tips section of the forum for more synergies with Moonstone and 2* Cap.0
