How does someone with only 2 included characters win Heroic?

Top spot in my bracket is JCOHIASM with 47039 points. He has a maxed Thor, and a 0/1/1 GSBW. None of the remaining characters of his roster were allowed in the Venom heroic.

So, how?

I'm tempted to start a second account just to see how different the events look from there.

    He has 18 total characters in the roster, a lot of them single-cover 3 stars. It looks like he's been selling 2*s and 1*s to maker room for any 3*s and 4*s that he draws. Doesn't seem like someone who just ragesold all his chars.

    In this particular one, Thor was doing all the heavy lifting and having a GSBW gave access to the essentials. Beast is useless, Storm is only for black, Cap only for tile overwrite, Hawkeye for Speed Shot. I finished top10 doing the three essentials and the four easy nodes at the beginning and using healthpacks only for Thor, while rotating the chum around him. So it is definitely possible for someone to win with 2 characters.

    In a lot of heroic events the 3rd or even the 2nd character is just someone to waste a health pack on when you miss a Flamethrower or lose. I don't think this one is as bad in terms of the deadweight at the end of the bench but I sure remember plenty of heroic events where it's just 1on3 and I wish I didn't have to waste health packs on the two other guys.

    I think Kalirion means that player does not have enough requested characters to even start a a fight, not the utility of the characters themselves.

    Kalirion, one solution is that at the start of the event, that player gets an open slot (purchasing one or selling one character) and fills it with a cheap requested cover (you get loads of 1* and 2* from PvP and progression rewards). At the end of the event he would sell that cheap character again.

    If you do not have three permitted characters, then you play with two or one of that is all you have. It is not required you have three playable characters on PvP or pve. 3 is the max you can use at once, and one is the minimum you have to have that is playable.

    This is different from if you have three or more playable characters. Then you must field three characters.

    Someone starts a thread like this literally every time they run a heroic. Putting it simply

    PEOPLE WITH LOW LEVEL ROSTERS THAT FEATURE THE BOOSTED CHARACTERS ARE SEEING VERY LOW LEVEL OPPONENTS AND HAVE A HUGE ADVANTAGE

    Yes, but only if you have two characters on your roster. If you have three and one is dead, then you can't go in with two. You have to heal the third or wait till their alive.

    Well, I did and finished #88. And I have 7 maxed 2*. I didn't have anyone else to play except maxed Thor and GSBW lvl 63. Played to 3k points and got Hawkeye red. He server as that third useless char to take some hits.

    Basically all this PVE was based around Thor. If you have a good maxed Thor, then yes it is possible to even come out 1st in the event if you grind enough. My opponents where decently scaled because I have no char above lvl 94, so I could pretty match clear 80% of the nodes every run.

    Not to mention that someone with even lower level character will see very easy opponents, which is a huge advantage because goons and daken can get pretty annoying at high levels.
