Better alliance rewards

I was just looking over the alliance rewards for the heroic event and noticed that the only thing separating #1 from #100 is 200hp. Same cover and same amount of iso. There needs to be something more substantial there in my opinion. It's expensive and difficult to grow and maintain a top tier alliance and the rewards should reflect that. Why should #1 who is 200k above #100 get nearly the same compensation for their efforts. Individual rewards take this into consideration and they're in much smaller brackets of anywhere from 500 to 2000 as opposed to 28000 alliances. Just doesn't make sense to me.

At least give out an extra cover to top 25 or even top 10 to reward the extra work the entire group puts in as a whole. An extra cover for top 10 in pvp and pve is 400 covers in a population of over 100k active players.

  • Not that I disagree, but 200HP that you didn't pay for is huge.

    EDIT: Spelling

I would like to see the alliance rewards be more significant, but Ice has said one of the reasons they don't is because they don't want the alliance hopping going on. When alliances are competing for the 100th spot and a bunch of people jump ship to join a higher alliance it makes the 19 other people in the alliance feel like ****. They want the alliance rewards to be a little extra credit, but not so much credit that people jump ship all the time. Yes we have a mercenary group in the alliance chat and that is how some people want to play, but the dev's want the alliances to stick together and grow. Keeping the rewards smaller keeps the alliance jumping lower which is a good thing.

Now if they increased the ISO and HP accross the board for all alliances that would a nice gesture of good will and very much appriciated icon_e_biggrin.gif

All of that makes me think they should actually lower the alliance rewards until they are in "nice bonus" and not "several times faster advancement" territory.
  • I agree with you that alliance hopping is a valid concern but this is something that already takes place (to a lesser degree) now. I understand that the devs want the alliances to grow together but the reality of it is this doesn't happen often anyways because of the competitive nature of the game. I have continually witnessed alliances near mine gain 20 or 30k in points in the last 10 minutes of pve events which can only be attributed to dropping lower scoring players and adding new higher scoring players in the closing minutes. Add to this players voluntarily leaving to improve their rewards and there is not a lot of stability as far as alliances go regardless.

Increasing rewards may help lessen alliance hopping to some degree because once people are reaching those alliance goals they may not want to risk losing them by leaving for another.

I'm not sure how difficult this would be to implement but they could also lock alliances for the last 24 hours of events in order to stop alliance hopping as well as people getting dropped by commanders at the last minute in order to gain a few meaningless positions.
  • Speaking from a top100 alliance that turns over around 1 player per season, I would like to see a 24 hour waiting period before stats count to your new alliance. It would eliminate last minute hopping and promote the sense of community in the alliances that D3 is looking for. Now if only the ingame chat could promote that sense of community...

I brought this up last time so I'll bring it up again. My alliance essentially has 40 members. We move guys around all the time, not to ensure top 100, but to distribute the top 100 rewards to the players that want/need the covers the most. Instituting a 24hour waiting period would make this pretty hard to do simply due to logistics and especially in instances where pve and pvp end within an hour of each other which seems to happen a lot.

Maybe we are an anomaly, but I think we have a pretty strong sense of community, especially as we use this to share rewards as much as we can.

Edit: meant to add that with the game growing and there being more and more maxed 20-person alliances, I feel like it's about time to expand the alliance rewards beyond just the top 100.

I think this is a strategy used my X-Men and the top alliances and is a good way to build a strong community. You do need multiple commanders who were willing to buy the 20 person alliances to make this happen. More power to your team's

I agree I think to 150 should get the alliance reward and for seasons and they should give the 4* to the top 100 players instead of the alliances. This way players who are in the top 100 can still get the 4* cover, but if they want to be in a more relaxed alliance they can be. This would also curb alliance hopping some and give out more 4* to indivduals who scored well enough to deserve it.

It appears that you're asking for an increase in alliance rewards..... for the top 100.

No thanks. We don't need the richer getting richer in this game any more than it is now. When seasons and alliances first came out, the alliance rewards were quite large and thankfully D3 scaled back on them signifigantly. It slowed progression down for those not in top alliances to a snails pace. I know it was one of many factors that led me to stop playing this game for 2-3 months, not counting logging in for my daily bonus. For a newer player, or those in small alliances (like me) , we'd just sit back and watch all those top alliances taking home more covers, ISO and hero points for what.... for being in a larger group than others? Where is the strategy in that?
